OK, I got the Gorilla tape. $12 for 35 yards in black.

$6 for the cheap stuff. I will give it the test this weekend on the sled seat.

It's not for ducts it's duck tape...

But it's nasty for seats.

Go to your local upholstery shop pick up some black waterproof vinyl
Get a decent staple gun, go to town. Just gather it at the corners.

I bet they won't charge you much more then $15 bucks, especially if you get some random scrap.
MC seats are not that big

It will last longer then the tape and won't get adhesive all over your pants

For anyone looking at this later, I would like to propose a superior alternative to Gorilla tape. Gorilla Tape should work and would probably be easier to find in a store, but hurricane tape is indestructible and made of poly-ethylene fibers so it won't break down in water, sun, etc. It also doesn't leave that gunk behind that GT does.

This is one of the strongest things I have ever found. It's never broken anytime I've used it.

Generally speaking, when I need something that's like duct tape but much better, I always reach for Gaffer's tape. The adhesive is strong but does not leave residue, and the material is much more like fabric and much less like plastic.

I've bought this particular one in the past: http://www.amazon.com/JVCC-GAFF30YD-...s=gaffers+tape

That's a pretty decent price for gaffers tape round LA, those go for about $30 a roll.
It's really good tape for a lot of different stuff.

I got a small hole in my 2 person raft once while on a river trip. A buddy had some Gorilla tape. I let it dry and warm up in the sun, put a piece over the hole, rolled it onto the raft material and it held...for the next year and a half! I used it about ten-15 times in that time period and had zero leakage.

Sold me on the stuff...

Ride report: gorilla tape came up on the edges a bit and my seat bunched up again. Temps were around 20 all day so maybe it's low temp related.

I may just have to cough up for a new seat cover...

I had the Nashua tape on there before, left a lot of residue.
