Missing Baja

I'm in the middle of a tour of the mainland on a TW200. Have ridden Baja several times on bigger bikes and can't wait to get back there. Keep the story and photos coming . . . personally think Baja wins hands down - pavement bound or free on the dirt.

When you go into Bay of La on the highway there is a hill right before turning south into town.A great place to get a pic of the bay.I could not get my camera into manual mode fast enough but got a pick anyway. It had just rained there.

Sunrise at Los Hammacas Hotel in Bay of La.Costa del Sol was full of the pirate bike H-D crowd.I have stayed at Costa del Sol before-kind of expensive.Los Hamacas is getting a rehab and I was the only person there .Nice sized room with my favorite kind of bike parking for 400 pesos. The restaurant is very clean.

The start of day 3 To Cabo.Todays run will be from Bay of La to San Francisquito. Not much mileage -but the road had alot of exposed rock.Rode part of the Green Door Trail but couldnt find the second half at the rancho. My gps took a permanent dump.My bike has some vibration coming up through the handle bars and the ram mount seems to amplfy it.I had a bunch of Moto Vaquero's tracks in it.I always have paper maps on board and had spent time studying them.I have a problem with modern electronic devices anyway.I cant remember how to scroll through all the menus and get pissed off real quick. Some pics?

This guy was guarding the gate at the rancho on the green door trail. At first I thought he was dead.I rode up and shut my bike off and he didnt move for about 5 minutes.I crawled under the gate to look for the track on foot but did not find it.I think it was back about 200 yards.I tried that 1 but got in some very deep sand in a wash.Turned around and went back to the main road on the map.
