fox
rabbit
cabbage,,
or,,
duck
corn
wildcat,,old riddle,,and nobody offered the solution.
I flat don't give a shit, and yer a dork for starting the riddle in this 'special' thread ,,and not following up!
fuck it!,,I'm outa here!
I'm not checking in on this sillyness until I come back from places I will have been,,if I come back at all!
I'm with Miguel,,
we feed the fucking cabbage to the rabbit and fatten him up for the slaughter, the fox will make a neat-o hat and some warm glove liners,,you can figger where to put the fucking boat,,

or ask Miguel!

hiya West!,,I guess it'll be up to you to call Amy and ask about the special and post yer findings.
when you call her,, always make some shaded comment which can be easily mis-constrood,,
last time I called her I asked in a sleazy voice,"guess what I'm holding in my hand right now?"

,,,,,,,silence,,

,then I said,,"the telephone, you filthy minded girl!"
she is too, ya know,,,just sayin',,,

Next meet-up,,tell her,,"if Peterman were here tonight, he'd be looking at yer tits",,and to keep yerself from being strucken with a pyool cue,,just tell her,, I said ,,'be nice Pumpkin',,

a slight rise in rpm can make a major change in mileage.
a 500 rpm increase will cause a net loss of perhaps 30 miles per tank, while an increase of 1000 rpm results in a loss almost double that.
So,,at 4000 rpm with a 16 tooth C sprocket I can count on 250 miles, but at 5000 rpm,,,just under 200 miles.
This becomes an issue when you pass thru Paisley with a mere 115 miles on a full tank and/but/tho the fueling stop in Silver Lake is CLOSED!

Shit!,,,ride rilly slow,,coast whenever possible,,knowing the whole time I ain't gonna make it to LaPine! Dangitt!
what happened next is a campfire story, and best not posted for public reading.
Many thanks to Al from McMinnville who stopped to give me aid and a splash of gas! I couldn't have pushed the bike the next ten miles!
I hope you heal up well from your quad crash injuries and get out there riding again soon!
(riding in full gear,,a low speed crash,,handlebar went up under his chest protector and punched him in the spine,,some mushy internal parts removed in surgery,,,icky!)
Any ADV folks who may know him,,please put me in touch. He's a keeper!

I know 20/20 hindsight but Christmas Valley has fuel, and is closer to Silver lake than La Pine. BTDT, and then of course the old saying of "when riding out east buy fuel when you see it, the next station maybe closed" would be a good mantra to follow. I spent some time at Burns jct. knowing I couldn't get to Burns because I didn't fuel up in Mcdermit. The station at Burn Jct. had closed the week before. Fortunately someone stopped by and told me I might get fuel in Rome if they felt like turning the pump on.

I did not know there was a gas service in xmas valley, or I mighta backtracked from Silver Lake,,problly woulda made it too!

Heidenau K60 Scout rear tire is worn pretty flat,,wear bars are gone at about 7500+ miles of use.
Not too bad for what I normally get,,problly double my normal wear.

I use the klamath marsh/bear flat Rd a lot heading out that away and back, been surprised by the lack of fuel in Silver Lake a few times.

So the Heidenau as per what I've heard cost twice as much and last twice as long as other tires but how do they compare to Gripsters?

STICK!,,GIT THE STICK!
that dawg would be wet if I was around!

the Heidenau has twice the lug depth of the Gripster,,but I'd lean the bike much more harshly with Gripsters onnit!
The hide-em-nowz are better in the dirt,(the rear at least,,, I won't have another front one!) but they do not bring even the confidence of a TKC80 when leaned over hard.
Oh,, and the heidies are one of the worst rear tires I have ever fought with for mounting!
Setting the bead took 3 tries,,the purchase of a jug of "for real" tire lube, and 110 pounds of shop air.
When I had a flat in Idaho last week, I remembered that,, I would NEVER have gotten the bead broken if it weren't for Mark's sidestand, and me and Fisherman standing on the bead!
I got it re-seated with all the air we could pump and a beating with a hammer to help scoot the last bit on the rim. Problly won't buy another one just for that factor alone,,,if I had been by myself, I'd still be out there with a flat!
