What I did tonight
I've been trying to find a way to merge these two subjects out of the garage, and on to the road,
So I took a little trip down to San Diego and Picked this up. It turned out that Emilio was a 1st class scooter geek, as you can see from this photo. He had pictures of hotted up Italjets on the wall. On a table he had a powertrain from a 58 Lambretta. Can anyone guess the scooter in the picture? Here's another bad shot. Anyways, I let him fill me in the history of scooters, and the pros and cons of Lambrettas over Vespas. The scoot he had even had a remote starter! After the dissertation he let me buy the hack for a more than fair price. Got it home in one piece. I'll wait till daylight to unload it. It looks a little 80's but is in good, clean shape. It has a 13" car tire on it. I think I dunn good. Haven't got a suitable horse to pull it with yet, but I'm sure I'll fall onto something big, old, cheap, and Japanese. |

Cool project. Looks like you have a little speed demon on your hands.

Anybody got anything gathering dust in a garage,
Big, cheap, and Japanese, say 750 cc or above that I can pull this with? |

I think your 2nd guess may be right. It's a 92, or 93 model. Never officially imported. He even had a Vespa remote start system on it. It wasn't as nice looking as a Stella.

I'm curious. Why would you need a remote starter?

He was just showing it off. It was a factory alarm thingie, and this was a part of it's capabilities. Maybe with the remote start you could have your cloud of 2 stroke smoke already wafting around there for you when you walk up to it. |

[QUOTE=VespaFitz]How about big, old, cheap and German?
1) Is there any frame under that lump of a motor? 2) Do we have a different idea about cheap? 3) Aren't closer to the east coast than the west? |

Rick, are you going to paint the hack to match the bike, or vice versa?

The paint on the bike is too good to screw up, so it'll be the sidecar that gets the re-splash. |
