Way cool report! Abandoned places are so fun to explore. Quality pix too!

The ride of the year for me

In looking back, I find the worry of getting caught a min. thing, with the hundreds that do walk, bike and now us, ride our KLR's in there, I do not think or even worry about anything happening to us, it was a good, safe ride that if your anywhere near it, just do it, very well worth it.

As my brother Rey said, it could not have been done without the help fro both Ian and Evan, 2 great guys and a ton of adventure in them, and thats what is needed for these types of rides.

Just a plug, just installed Evan's 300 watt stator and reg, wow, works great, now I can run heated gear without the worry of running out of battery power, charges up just fine, he made a video of the install for the new gen klr's so, it is basicly the same but look at it, it is by far, the best upgrade I have made so far.

And I'm not very smart and missed it.

Helo shoot was for a client- shot several that day around the area.

I'm SO STUPID.

How stupid am I?

I wanted to get an angle across the helo and into the trestle, so I used a wide angle lens and climbed a small hill close to the aircraft to get just the right angle. Then it occurred to me that a helicopter has this great big fan thing on top called a rotor, and one should, in general terms, avoid climbing small hills adjacent to running aircraft with that fan thing on top.

But now back to Evan's thread….

That's a really cool adventure.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Looks like that was a real tunnelling RR project!
And it's way more interesting with the old cars and debris than if it were cleaned up.....

Word of warning - only approach the helo from the downhill side! Yikes!

Hey Paul! How've you been? Hope things are going well.
Glad you didn't end up getting sliced & diced by that big fan thing on top of the helicopter.

We should meet up for a ride soon!
