"He cried in a whisper at some image, at some vision--he cried out twice, a cry that was no more than a breath: The horror! The horror!
Jos. Conrad, Heart of Darkness

That said, Honda is at least marching to their own drummer's beat. It is not an ass in the air, droopy headlight, origami wasp, which seems to be the current meme. Not my cup of chai, but they get points for risk taking.

I think it is quite interesting, to me it looks like a DN-02: a bike where Honda applied lessons they learned from the disaster that was DN-01.

Styling aside, what were the main problems with DN-01? Lack of decent storage and protection disqualified it as a tourer, and the price that largely disqualified it as a commuter (remember that once they dropped the price, DN-01 sold sort-of-OK...)
Well, this model seems better thought out in terms of practicality, while the combination of existing motor and dual clutch gearbox instead of the experimental hydraulic one they used in DN-01 should keep costs in check.

In any case, I applaud Honda for going their own way.

Awesome. Stealth fighter meets cruiser meets batmobile meets graphite turd shat out of a 50' robot.

A guy who has spent too long in his bedroom designed that.

Great. So it's designed for 105lb, 5'1" Asian women with a 26" waist.

Should do well in the American market.

Here we go with another new model from Honda, so that means bring on all the HATERS. That's all this site seems to be good for, is bashing any new model that's not an overpriced European sports bike. Let the games begin. Again. And again.

from the press release

"The young social media-engaged urbanite lives a digital existence in a fast moving world. And they're totally engaged by the new. Without question, the NM4 Vultus is just that. It is avant-garde in both the way it looks but also, and perhaps more importantly, in the detail work that has gone into creating a unique riding experience."

What good is innovation if this is all they can come up with? To me this is just saying, "Look how much money we have, we don't even really need to sell bikes, we just come up with this stuff to keep people talking"

New? Other than the styling, which is of less interest to non-posers, what's new about it?

Stylistically not my cup of tea, but it looks like a very comfy place to spend a few hours. Bet they have the aerodynamics down pretty well.

I share my unfondness of the Gladius and the new Ducati Monster 1200 to name but two, with equal mention. I'm not a hater for hate's sake, but I sure do know what I like or dislike in a motorcycle's design appearance.
