OK, I just moved West (and just back from Rick's RDV). That means that instead of hanging out with the idiots and drunkards in the NC and TN mountains , I'll have to hang out with the idiots and drunkards on this side . I assume this is an accurate description of ADV'rs here just like it is there?

So, fill me in. What's happening? Where is it happening? And who do I call to bail me out when... oh, wait. Nevermind.

Another thing: just so you don't get the idea that I'm somehow outside all the normal things in life that really matter, I just have to say: Coors sux balls. Give me a good, hoppy IPA any day.

Welcome! The first thing you need to do is prove your solidarity by correctly pronouncing Cathlamtet, Clatskanie and Skamokowa.

So is there a ferry somewhere that crosses the Columbia?
Or is the best way over the Lewis and Clark Bridge?

Uh, I haven't bothered to Google it, but the last time I checked it was Cathlamet.... So then I Googled and it's Skamokawa....

They're pronounced "up there," "over yonder," and "damfino."

You're in, although anyone that understands that "yonder "is farther than "over there" is bordering on too smart to hang out with us. And if you can differentiate between the correct uses of "further" and "farther" you may as well not even show up.

Sounds like you'll fit in just fine, wanna sign-up for the swim team?

Someday, a slacker might get around to making a formal thread in the ADVrider annual rallies thread................or not.

If yer hungry when ya get to Westport stop in the little gas station/deli/store for some tasty chicken and jo jo's (not your typical deli chicken and jo jo's), or if your not into that they have plenty of other choices.

I don't know, the Lewis and Clark bridge is a bit less funner than the Astoria Columbia River bridge when on a 100cc bike.

I've never taken the Westport ferry.
