It won't help. People that want a Harley are going to buy a Harley.

Are they going to drop the weight and increase the power to? Maybe convert it to a belt drive to get more power to the rear wheel?

Chains have less inertial loss over a belt actually, and they handle more power. That's why you see chain drive kits for Harleys. Belts are smoother and have there advantages though, but do not transmit more power than a chain.

Great news about Honda lowering the MSRP on their Shadow line-up! Good, solid motorcycles regardless of drive-type ... and both the RS and the Phantom are actually damn-good lookin' Bikes too!

Honda needs to do more in their middlewieght cruiser line.

They are outgunned by every manufacturer. Time for something new.

A boost in horsepower would sell a lot more 750's than a price reduction.

Those bikes get a lot right with the sound and the look, but boy are they tepid.

Honda actually drops prices? Now that is a major event. The only Shadow I really like the looks of is the Aero, with its full fenders. I do think they all look much better than the new Harley Street though. But I would not buy one. They either need tubeless tires (which the new Harley actually has) or a centerstand.

Tubeless tires would be nice. That's really the only complaint i have about
my shadow. I wish it had tubeless tires.

Honda used to fit cast rims & tubless tires on the 1100 Spirit and the Sabre ... no reason why the 750's couldn't be given the same treatment. Have a feeling that the more "traditionally" styled 750cc Bikes currently in Honda's Cruiser line-up will slowly be phased out in favor of the new designs of Roadbike (i.e. CTX700) that Honda recently introduced into their fold ...

I always liked the looks of the aero series too, used to see one now and then but not much anymore.Never rode one so I have no idea about performance.Honda may have just dropped prices but I used to see ads where they were moderately discounted.

The 750cc Shadows aren't "performance" machines per se, but can hold their own with their direct compeditors such as the 883 Sportster ... could the VTs use a few more ponies? sure they could, but they are still great over-all motorcycles, perfectly capable of satisfying the needs of 98% of the Riders in the market for this type of Bike ...

If your going to buy a cruiser you really should buy a Hog. Otherwise your just a poser posing as a poser. I am surprised the Japanese have not given up on the cruiser market. It is the last bike i would ever buy. In fact i might prefer to take the bus. Just kidding.

The shadows are good solid motorcycles. I've known guys who rode the for tens of thousand of miles with no problems.
