**Not sure if this is the right place for this but given the age, it looked to me to be the best fit. Please move it if I am wrong. **
Some of you may have seen my post in the flea market section looking for ideas on finding a "decent" $1K bike. Anyway, I got a response from my craigslist ad. I was told it has 12,000 on the clock, "doesn't look beautiful" but they are looking for $750 obo for it. Any opinions on this bike? I'm going to take two buddies of mine that ride to check it out with me this weekend; any particular things to look for on this bike? They have about 25 riding years between them so I figure they will be able to lead me right. Michael |

It would be a decent around town bike but probably too slow for modern freeways.
For $1k you can do better. Keep digging. |

Depends what is its. The old XS400 was an old design, lookes like a Triumph twin. The XS400 Seca and XS400 Magna were at least DOHC, but still a parallel twin. Reguardless, I bet you can do better for 1k than something that old.
