Sounds like a big improvement on the stock seat!

Did that price include using your original seat pan?

From Japan.

The Bagster seat seems like a good deal. The website doesn't give the price unfortunately....

Shadowjack - Beautiful pics, looks like the type of country Yamaha had in mind when they built the TDM.

I assume from your sig they were taken in New Zealand, my son and I have been talking about a trip down for a while, probably sometime in the next year or so. I would love to ride places like the ones in your pictures, where were they taken?

I'm sitting here looking at a map of NZ right now. I expect it's an interesting place to ride with the Southern Alps, the Fiordland, the Canterbury Plains, and probably some cool stuff on the North Island as well. Looks like the road from Otira across Arthur's Pass would be very great. Any other suggestions?

Wicked Looking for TDM ignition switch

Greetings inmates! I'm new here, and I'm diggin' this site. Anybody know where I can find an ignition switch for my '92 TDM? They are discontinued, Emgo doesn't make one for this bike. I'm trying to troubleshoot an electrical problem, and the switch seems like a likely source. There's one on ebay, but I couldn't get the lister to give me a vote of confidence on it. I need a known good one. Thanks!

Kia ora, Motorcyclefanatic,
Post has been edited to show locations. You might also like to check the ADVrider/Regional Forum/New Zealand/Pics thread. I have posted these and and few more there, as have a number of other inmates.

There are three mountain passes in the South Island to travel over to get from East to West- (North to South) Lewis Pass, Arthurs Pass, and Haast Pass. All are spectacular in their own ways.
In the last three weeks, I have toured over 6,000 kms - 4,000 kms (slowly) in the North Island, 2,000 (quickly) in the top half of the South Island. The East Cape of the North Island, Bay of Islands, and the Kauri Coast in Northland would be my favourites up North.

Just about anywhere in the South Island, but definitely tour in to see Milford Sound, the West Coast, Buller Gorge, Kaikoura Coast, and all three passes mentioned above. All are good great motorcycle roads. And this is just the sealed roads - gravel road travel opens up a whole other experience.

Also check (if you haven't already) the kiwibiker site (www.kiwibiker.co.nz) - there is a significant body of information available for travellers such as yourself.

Hope this helps
Shadowjack
