The Metamorphosis Is Now Complete
ref: The Metamorphosis is Nearing Completion "Legendary TDM" status is now apparently restored Quote:
Our first real 300km ride for over 3 months was enjoyed last weekend for the ol' rebuilt Bee-arch & me and we had a ball. Risk taking was out of the question as the thumb is still healing ...... riding sweep was the order of the day & I must say it was actually a pleasure not having to be so alert for the usual animal terrorists. Here are some pics of the country-side we have at our doorstep if you are interested, none of the TDM though.

So Mr Masterbrewer, you will no longer be subscribing to the old Aussie saying "well, stick mne thumb up a kangaroo's bum?"
Well done on the rebuild and you beat me to it again - although there is nothing wrong with my perfect TDM, it's the rider who is shyte. |

Ive got a question for you guys...
My 93 TDM is still "new to me." Ive noticed than when the bike is idling every few seconds there will be a stutter in the idle and i'll hear a little "thump" from the engine. it does it in perfect rhythm when it starts. thump---10 seconds --- thump --- 10 seconds --- thump... Any ideas or is that normal?

I think it's predetination due to lean idle mixture. Suggest richening the pilot jet 1/4 turn to see if that eliminates the problem. Good luck. ...errr .......... probably good idea to clean the carby jets too if it's been standing around that long.

Had the same issue with mine for a bit. After the previous cleaning it seemed to go away, it almost sounded/felt like the engine was choking for air. Seems fins now though, I would just suggest a really good carb cleaning before you start playing with adjustments.

When you guys say clean to carb do you mean a full tear down or running something like seafoam through the tank?
