Lot of personal biz at the mo, Father died last week, so a lot of sadness & arrangements. News getting better tho, my son & partner produced a baby boy yesterday so now I'm a grandad

After the funeral tomorrow, hope to recover my spirits at the NEC bike show end of next week

Our thoughts & best wishes from Oz, dicky1

My 86yo mother died yesterday, happy with her life we think.

Grandsons are great, mine is now 13months old & is about to walk.

It surprises everyone, including his parents but, forget modern toys, he get's the most kick out of the ol' school of learning what's around him (the stuff most kids these days don't see for lookin' anymore, if you know what I mean) and beams a huge smile everytime he comes around & sees me.

Wait till I show him "The TDM"

Thanks for your best wishes guys and sorry to hear about your mum Masterbrewer, my dad was a couple of years older.

Now if only Yamaha would feel sorry for us and bring through a super-lite TDM with a 19"/21" front wheel it would help turn a sad face into a happy one a bit more quickly.

TDM stuff

Back to TDM stuff... ...I picked up this little gem a couple of weeks ago. I'm no TDM expert, yet, but aren't those wheels massaged?

Kinda clean, huh?

Man, that thing is sweet! Cans, handguards, Corbin. Did you just take it out of the box or what?

Those rims have been reworked somehow. You lucky dog!

****Joe, Your 92 TDM is a showpiece, museum quality...someone spent much time and money keeping it so pretty, the wheels have been stripped and polished (inmates on VFR site do this also..is A LOT OF WORK) , your bike also has a rare centerstand (can I buy it?) , the handguards and the fresh gold chain/sprockets look great, plus corbin seat, I dont like the tank bra on it, whatever you paid for this bike is well worth it, perfect example, I would buy another TDM to scuff up and ride, this one is a showbike, I am glad mine is in less condition, still very nice, parked dirty in my garage now, your new bike is beautiful, would make me worry about thrashing it, Doug *

Joe, do you know exactly what was done to get the wheels to look like that? Also, can you post more pics? Any idea what handguards those are?

Doug, I searched the VFR forum and this one for a good thread on wheel stripping and polishing. Have you seen any threads with how-to's and good pics? Got any links?
