Hi all, just saw this thread and wanted to share my love and appretiation for the TDM. :)
Here a picture of mine ('02 model) from this year's trip to Greece.
The sidecases are off for the picture. :)

And this is me and my fried with a Varadero.

Great bike, got it July 2008, and to this date - 11000km, just perfect. No complaints. :)

Back from my skiing/family holiday in France, pleased to see you survived the wedding A.J. , the pictures are beautiful

Now back to bikes, do I go for a new TDM900 or go for a bike with more off-road capability but can still tour, (KTM Adventurer, GS800)?
My TDM850 has now got over 85,000 Km's on the clock and though I have had no problems, I don't want to push my luck too far.

So what do I do ?...........

Stick with a TDM

The 0% finance deal Yamaha UK were doing was a big influence for me getting a new TDM 900 in November, & I am enjoying it.
I had thought about the F800GS really liked it but to dear for me no deals to be had.

Great pictures, would be very interested to hear your opinions of which bike you think is coping with the conditions best.

Your right about it being a good time to buy, although I'll get next to nothing for my 850. The other drawback of the GS800 is the small 16L tank. The BMW people at the NEC told me that touratec are working on some auxiliary fuel tanks but these will probably add a further £600 to £800 to an already high cost. I also doubt that it will have the reliability of the TDM but it does go off-road. drrrrrrrr
