A few pics from the bike show at the harvest classic in Lukenbach, Tx. Scooter section.
Some may not consider the Simplex a scooter but , where else would it fit ?

Talking Bv200

My 2005 Piaggio BV200... I've ridden alot of scoots, and this is the sweet spot for me.

I work in a European motorcycle dealership that also sells Vespas and Piaggios. I'm the least mechanical guy in the shop, but being the resident scooter geek, I get to test ride new scoots being sold, and scooters which have come in for service. Almost every other scooter I ride makes be appreciate my Euro-Trash Sport Touring Bev, all the more.

I ran into this gentleman at the Harvest classic rally in Luckenbach, Tx.
I forget his name but, I found out he was English so , I asked him if he was a Mod or a Rocker.
He said " Well you had to be a mod if you rode one of these. "
He said he started riding scooters in 1958 and had one til he moved to the states. Then I asked if he was ever into fighting with the Rockers.
" No. We ran away if any of them tried to start something. We had all our money in the clothes. The last thing we wanted to do was get in a fight and tear up our suits.
I was from west London , a bunch of us rode our scooters around and tried to look good for the girls. Later on there were some guys on scooters from east London , that would fight with the Rockers. I never did. The guys from east London didn't care about their clothes, they would fight. "

And that's how it was , circa late 50's.

Nice. How many miles on that bad boy? I like the factory windshield. I heard they are no longer available just as your side cases.

I'm at just under 8K right now. I'm averaging about 1.5 to 2K a year now that my commute frequently involves shuttling my daughters to grandma's.

Hoping to do a trip from the east coast to Arkansas in the next couple of years though.

I just took my 2005 BV200 out for a little spin today before I put it away for the winter this week. She now has 20,127 miles. I didn't put too many miles on it this year ( about 1400) because it's due for a belt/rollers and a valve adjustment. Most of my riding this year was on my 2005 Honda Reflex. She has less than 6500 miles. I plan on tackling the BV's maintenance over the winter and she'll see alot more of the road next season. Great scooter.

Today there was only one. It was 27 degree's this morning and the PCX did get loose on some ice in one curve. And the parking lot still had ice but it all melted today. So far so good on the PCX. I do have a taller windscreen on order. I have 110 miles on it and have yet to fuel it. Dealer had it full when I bought it.

On the way home from work yesterday, I hit a new GPS top speed. 63mph down a big hill.
27 freaking degrees out and you're looking for speed records? Who makes your jacket & pants, NASA?
Florida guys don't ride in 27 degree weather (unless it's an emergency); but if I did I'd be cruising along at about 25 mph to moderate the Wind Chill

Yeah my BV is my 6th scooter, and my favorite so far.
