Two stroke. The four stroke has an instrument pod and a hump on the floorboards. Very um, modern?

The wife and I always hit key west almost every year. I went over to look at a real ratty blue zuma one time. It had 32000 miles, I was like wow. I hate how everything is left out side and all rusty though

2009 Scarabeo 500ie

Traded my Moto Guzzi California for this a couple of months ago. Straight across for a change didn't cost me a dime. New experience for me - pretty cool for around town, running errands etc. Can't wait for spring!

Absolutely stunning. Naysayers be damned. I still want one.

That's the proper pick of the Piaggio family line, it's all the BV500 should have
been, better suspension and brakes, more underseat storage, better seat.

Not sure if you get it with the 460cc or the 492cc engine, if it's 492 it's
virtually flawless.

Not as frisky and psycho as the BV350, but a better all-rounder IMHO.

Thanks Cortez, It's a 2009 so I'm pretty sure it's a single-plug 460. I'll have to dig into it one of these days and find out.

After a Google session I could not find a 492cc in the US.

That's too bad, but the 460 issues have probably been fixed.

If I was you, I'd check oil often and keep it filled up to half of the
measuring bar, and if the level starts going up, change the oil ASAP.

Scooter rides

I met a couple of scooter riders back in october I think it was - during the distinguished gentleman's ride and ended up making some new friends. I subsequently tagged along on couple of weekend rides with one of the clubs and I kinda got hooked! No crazies, no dangerous stunts or loud noise - it was the first time in my riding career that I actually enjoyed group riding. So I worked a deal with our friendly local Moto Guzzi/Aprilia store (Moto International) to trade my '04 California for a very lightly used Scarabeo 500. The PO had traded it in on a new Norge. It's nice to have choices isn't it?

I haven't ridden it much due to our crappy winter weather but I've enjoyed it so far. Not that big of a difference from a motorcycle - just have to remember - that lever on the left? NOT THE CLUTCH!.

Cortez, re: the oil level - what makes it go up? What are the issues for the 460cc motor?
