Fuel gets in the oil, raises the level, increases the pressure and engine goes
POP. Complete failure. Not very common these days even if you figure out
that your engine is doing that, people just change the oil more frequently.

Supposedly short and slow city rides make the problem worse.
You could actually smell the fuel on the oil dip stick.

Just keep a close eye on it, it's a very serious problem if neglected, but
easy to check and avoid.
The explanation does not make sense. Thermostat has nothing to do with fuel system other than temp control and possibly being on an extra rich map used during start up. Fuel injector would have to be stuck or not properly sealed. Bad sealing rings. Is it coolant in the oil?

No, it's fuel.

I'm not trying to explain anything since I don't know and don't care how
this actually occurs, I'm just re-typing from other forums
and what I've heard from dozens of Piaggio dealerships here that were
my business partners and/or some owners. Same thing was happening
on the piaggio 200cc leader engines.

I have no idea how fuel ends up in the oil, I'm no mechanic.

This was a serious issue when the bike first came out in 2003, it's been over 10 years
since then, and some still have the issue, some don't.

That's why (here at least) a 460cc BV500 is A LOT cheaper used then 492cc BV500.
Everyone knows about the issue.

Too much snow

80 degrees in Key West this afternoon. It's too early to be sure but I hope winter is done.

MY ET4.

The water is too cold still for me to swim.

Yep! I've ridden it all over Washington, Oregon and Idaho for scooter rallies and camping.

Hello! I am from Brazil and here goes pictures of my scooter SYM CITYCOM (marketed here with DAFRA brand). The images were obtained by cell phone (sorry!). The site is a spillway dam Billings, in the city of Sao Bernardo do Campo.

Pictures from Brazil

Nice pictures Hugo! Looks kind of tropical to me, especially the clouds. It's a huge country - what part were these pictures taken?

So let's see - Portugese right? Don't need to speak it to get the message to "Jeep driviers and Motorcyclists" "Area not authorized for the use of off road and motocross bikes " Something about a risk of accident, contamination, and explosion in the gas/oil fields?

Cool!
