Mechanical Engineer, now retired. I specialized in machine design, and one-off specialty manufacturing machine designs for 44 years. Worked my way up to Director of Engineering about 15 years ago. I still help out when they call, which is about 2X a month, and they pay me a better rate now than when I worked full time. Life is funny.

I began riding at 15 years old, in 1966. It was a very different world then. Been riding regularly ever since. For a hobby I buy old motorcycle engines off of Craigslist and eBay, sometimes swap meets, then rebuild/restore/ upgrade/modify them depending on the make and size. When I sell them, it's usually either break even, or a slight loss, very rarely at a profit. I specialize in Triumph, Norton, BSA and Harley Davidson units. With others the loss is way too high. Like I said, it's a hobby. My favorite writer is Kevin Cameron - very smart individual, second is Peter Williams, another intelligent Engineer.
