Some shots from a 5 day up the western Sierras. Super fun. Kind of depressing how many forests are burning, burnt, dying, or dead. Still beautiful though. Didn't log a ton of miles because I was able to stick to the dirt more than I thought, which takes a heckuva lot longer to get where you're going than I anticipated. Also, a lot of routes I hoped would pan out, didn't. So some backtracking as well. All part of the adventure though, right? IMG_0986.JPG

Chappelle, Cool setup. Like how tight those side cases fit. What top case is that? Is that a light bar mounted over your custom front fender? Aesthetically, I'm not a fan of the stock beak either. Didn't take long before I took a dremmel to mine.

Thank you, I made the mounts for side boxes for that very reason, the only mounts available stick the right side box out 3" further than the left. I cut out the happy trail box to fit around the exhaust. As it is now, the handlebars are wider than the boxes. I made the top box to match the side boxes. Yes that's a Rigid Industries SR 10" bar. Bright as hell. And as for the beak, and fender.. it started out as a roadie so no beak and I converted it to an "Xc" so that's the stock roadie fender mounted to the bottom of the KTM triple clamps. the front end is from a SMR 450 that was shortened and set up for adventure.

I still have in mind to mount a true dirt style front fender on mine. What did you screw or bolt yours to , since the bottom triple tree doesn't really have any good spots to do so , and is it save to assume yours is not an ABS model , as I don't see to the cluster of brake lines toward the rear of the front tire like all of the ABS models in the States?

The front of this with the big screen bares some resemblance to the older Girlie's.

It does have abs, I'm only running 1 caliper up front so no cluster, the fender mounts to the bottom of the triples. It's literally a set of triples from ktm dirt bike. I'm gong to order a ktm front fender soon I used the factory tone ring and attached it to the ktm wheel, the pic is before I installed the sensor

    Single rotor?
Seen it done once with a 'busa that was modded for 1/8th mile drag racing. Thru the gravel trap and hit the back wall K-rail. Hospital for rider. Not enough brake to stop the bus!
You sure you want to remove half of your braking? With a 500lb bike, you're not saving any weight percentage wise.

Rubber piece of hose with one big bolt thru it, jammed into the stem hole, and it compresses to hold my fender on.

On a drag bike that has double the power of my tiger and weighs the same, i would think twice about removing a rotor.. in my case I am using a 4 piston caliper, and a 320mm rotor compared to the 308s it came stock with. That all on a 1.85 wide rim, it's noticeably lighter and still stops plenty good in all conditions but has more modulation in the dirt with abs turned off.

Just did a little shakedown run on my new XCX. Absolutely in love with this thing compared to my Scrambler...
