BMW Motorrad President Stephan Schaller announced at EICMA in Milan today, that BMW Motorrad will be presenting an air-cooled “boxer” engine in 2013 as a special way of marking the “90 years of BMW Motorrad” anniversary. We know it’s just a sketch right now, but what we don’t know: do you like it?

    :evil

Damn, I even want the T-shirt!

Looks like an R with standard forks and the camhead engine. It'd be a hoot, and prolly nicer than my Duc for general riding. I think there were some spy shots of it in another thread, wouldn't surprise me if it were a 2013 model.

We've seen this bike in a bunch of spy shots. Basically a slightly retrofied RR.

I wonder how long the air cooled boxer is going to persist?

It looks like a reworked R1200R.. the front portion of the tank resembles the 1200R's.

    We shall soon see... :lurk

I do agree. The sketch's shape alone is something I wish BMW would have done for the R1200R from the beginning. Or hopefully they'll do the same thing to the roadster version (if it comes out) of the new liquid cooled R.

Either way, I can't wait to see it; even if I already know I can't afford it.

I am very interested in getting one of these. It would take the place of my V-Rod. Can't wait for the release!

Shorter cousin to the HP2 Megamoto? If they put the big hexhead motor in it, that'd be fun. Looks like a new tank design, but man, the intake trumpet's kind of gnarly.

That looks fun. Radial brakes and good forks would be nice.
