Shhhh! There are no good roads in teh Ozarks.....repeat there are no good roads in the Ozarks.....
yeah arkansas sucks, way too many motorhomes and pot holes. and police man I don't know where they find all those police
a big +1 on those roads. Also have to add Vanocker Canyon (very close to Spearfish Canyon in SD)...I miss the Black Hills, Kansas sucks
I am enjoying all the responses. Guess I should have asked the Best 20 Roads.
Independence Pass, Beartooth Hwy, California Coastal Roads, etc, etc. Keep em coming...
And add Dolores Canyon in far western Colorado, canyon carving in a red rock dream world through Gateway is outstanding. The list is getting longer.
One vote for Ozello road on the Nature Coast of Florida....that's right Florida....esp Dec thru March....
Riding on the beaches of the east coast of Florida provides alot of scenic curves as well.... (and some not so scenic... )
CA #4 - from 89 to 49
Ca #155 - from 65 to 178 - East of Glennville is amazing......
The highways in Sequoia, Glacier, Mount Ranier, and Rocky Mountain national parks.
The hiway into the most North East entrance of Yellowstone national Park.
Highway 64 from Farmington to Raton, New Mexico.
Highway 119 from Weston to Charleston, WV.
Highway 50 from Clarksburg, WV to Winchester, Va.
The three sisters (FM 335, 336, and 337) near San Antonio, Tx.
The hiway into Hyder, Alaska and beyond up to Salmon Glacier.
Can't say what the 10 best are, but take Deal's Gap off that list. Loved Cherohala, but not Deal's Gap.
just had to tell 'em, didn't you?
I second those who nominated 33 in WV - hilarious fun that more than made up for bailing like a wuss on the Shenandoah 500 after Sunday lunch. Isn't that the one they call the Baby Dragon?
Whoever said California 198 Generals Hwy is a sadist.
Glad someone mentioned Lolo Pass.
I will through in the best in KY maybe, Black Mtn (160) over into VA. check out these sexy curves
When you are in the Smokies skip the Tail of the Dragon and ride rt 32 from Cosby up over the dirt dragon.
Arkansas does suck, nothing to see there. I go back 3 times a year just to remember how bad it sucks
While on the CDR in '07 we found NM Hwy 152 by accident. We had bailed east to I-25 and Truth or Consequences due to mud. Took 152 back to Silver City to catch the CDR route.
------ My short list -----------
-Tuna Canyon -- a one way barrel of monkeys!
-Deer Creek / Sycamore Canyon road -- on a supermotard
-Glendora Mountain / Ridge roads
-Highway 243 from Banning to Idyllwild, then down the 74 to Indian Wells
-Highway 138 through Crestline, then down Rim of the World highway
-Avoid Angeles Crest Highway like the plague! Far too many stupid drivers and squids on sportbikes.
Pretty much any road near a national park in Utah
Long and Winding Road
Highway To Hell
The Lonesome Highway
Seven Bridges Road
Yellow Brick Road
Oh wait, that's not right, you said ten.
Ca hwy 36,west of Red Bluff,to Eureka. Like the sign sez, winding road for 140 miles...
The mere thought of Hwy 12 in Utah nearly makes me weep with joy.
I agree, Cherohala is much better than Deal's Gap. A dirt favorite is the loop road around Linville Gorge in NC. My quick homey ride favorite is Bear Creek Canyon road up to Squaw Pass road at Evergreen and on up to the top of Mt. Evans at 14,000+.
