Perhaps you're thinking of the Trans West Virginia Trail? A search should bring up some threads. Report back what you find!

The vast majority of WV was paved years ago. I live in the Ohio Valley and there are only a few public gravel roads.

Thanks, yes I found this thread also. There are some gpx routes listed, but my Vista does not allow my Mapsource to view. I can only view gdb format and will need to use my other computer at work to examine the routes.

I am heading to Snowshoe this weekend and will be riding something-dirt/gravel/asphalt north of Durbin. :clap

I left Snowshoe, rode to Durbin, then 44 north to Spruce Knob, then onto 33 and then south to Durbin and back to Snowshoe.

    Great ride!

44 looked to end before crossing US 33. I will continue to look for the "100 Mile Dirt Road"".

Possibly the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal towpath? Saw something that said it was 180 miles of crushed gravel in WV and Maryland.

    This is very very incorrect

Public road 44 is only about 25 miles

No single road is anywhere near 100 miles, but you could pretty easily make a 100 mile loop in that area without crossing your own path.

Lost, it's sleeting, and you're on a loaded pig with worn out tourances, it would sure feel like it. You must have a brain fart and forget about crossing the double yellow on 33 also. From Bartow/Frank/Durbin North crossing 33 into Sully you may could stretch as much as 60 miles. Honorable in these days of "progress".

Now the SW corner, Wyoming/McDowell/Mingo/Logan and parts of Mercer, a road? That's what they paved just so the beer trucks could run regular. 100 miles unpaved? Piece of cake. :lol3

The C&O Towpath is hiking & biking ONLY - no motorized vehicles allowed.

I've ridden the entire length on a mountain bike a couple times. Goes from Cumberland, MD to DC.
