    Hello everyone from Italy! This is my first message and I want to open this thread to document photographically what I intend to do: restore and carry forward my last purchase, thanks to the web and a lazy bmw's rider who declined to give more confidence to his COW just wound ...

    The greatest damage we have to telelever, the forks, the upper tank and the fender was completely disintegrated.

    First repair: restoring original motor grid (stainless):

    The bushing was completely broke down, has been welded with stainless steel.
    Then i'ts passed between the turbines of a sandblasting machine ...

    Surprise! Steering wrong (before you could not see) ...

    Handlebar newly realigned and blasted ...

    Original caliper vs. revised caliper. I simply disassembled and cleaned by brushing pistons and verifying the integrity of the seals.

    You repaired or replaced the triple? If repaired, did you heat and bend? Curious...

    For the splines.. ff course... the clutch it's ok, the cow has 47000km. I rode the bike before dismount.

    Your English is much better than my Italian. While serving with the U.S. Army, I lived from 1976-1981 in Livorno, and again from 1986-1988 in a small town in northern Italy (Ceggia). I left Italy in 1988, and only went back for a visit for 10 days in November, 2007. Being an American of Italian heritage, I considered it a privilege to be stationed in Italy for so long. I am the only member of my generation to have any knowledge of the Italian language.

    I will be reading and waiting with enthusiasm for each of your reports on this rebuild of your "cow"... I am sure by the time you are finished, she will be a Gazzelle...

    Repair used bill (find for few euros):

    As you can see, has been made ​​in the first heat sealing of plastic, to straighten the profile of the fender, which inevitably had bent over that broken.

    On the side panel instead we have created only a little skin to adhere better to the ribbon of glass fiber.

    After 10-15 minutes, everything is already paid, thanks to "poxipol". I waited 24 hours to finish with electric flex.

    This sealing film has made ​​me discover my friend, an expert in restoration of classic cars (as an amateur). I've even welded the head of the Teflon headlamp adjustment mechanism, it would cost me 30 euros! Disassembly, I discovered that it was broken too. :rofl

    Cleaning and polishing wheels. The photos do not give a good idea, also because of the light streaks left by the abrasive paste to work done, which amplify behind a digital lens (I'll try to remove them with a good final washing) .. but I can assure you that the filth removed from hubs and spokes, was great!

    These are hand cleaned and painted Hella spotlights. The bracket Biker Factory recertified but was the first (she had become a banana because of impact), sandblasted and then powder coated gray. All the rusty screws, have been replaced with new stainless ..
