Yeah that was the reasoning they gave for not allowing quads, the tracks would damage the land beneath the snow... Whether that's true or not I don't know.

The problem is that they just rut up the trails and if not enough snow trash the ground to. Years ago I hit some tracks someone made with a ATV and it ripped the handle bars out ta my hands and took me right off the trail.

Get it in the garage and defrosted this evening and take a close look tomorrow. Probably just the A-arm.

I choose both, but either way works. My friends keep spare a-arms with them, especially when heading into the mountains.

It's officially shit around here, we only got about a foot of snow this year and most of it has melted. I got in around 30 miles and some fresh gas in the old phizzer though. Waconia is only 5 miles south of where I live and it's a cool antique meet up. It's in a week and a half.

I have been to Haydays a few times and it's pretty cool. I wouldn't drive 1000 miles to get there though! :eek1

Well I'm being the total Craigslist flake to the owners of this sled. They are asking 2500, blue book is 1855. The sled head at work is telling me to offer 1500 and they will probably take it. The owners are a couple in the process of a divorce. But I feel bad low balling them, AND I'm not feeling much motivation to make an offer now since the trails are closed and it looks like there may be no more sledding here this winter.

Screw it id offer 1500 max id go is 1700 because theyre not gonna sell it even close to their price. If you can afford the money and chance not riding it why not.

So i've been in the garage for a while... got new A-arms wednesday, put those on thursday night, then did alignments/adjustments and a few other fixes this weekend.

    Right A-arm was thoroughly fucked:

    Nothing was straight on it.

The left side was better, but still tweaked.

Ripped everything apart, replaced lowers and greased/antiseized everything in the front suspension:

    Ski and camber alignment
    [IMG]

and finally got everything back together. :clap
    [IMG]

Then did some work on the sucktastic grip warmers. Ripped (literally) the stock ones off the bars, then put the RSI high-output grips on that I took off my 900. These grips, with the spray-foam insulation in the bars, and some insulation between the warmer elements and the aluminum bars, should hopefully make the ride a little more comfortable.

Yep. Second year in a row it looks like I won't get out. Last year was fine because Disco Jr. was born in December, so I knew it was a longshot even if there would have been snow. I got two of the three sleds started on New Years Day and rode one down the road at the cabin, but there's been little snow up there either (Iron River, WI area). Starting to think I should have just shut down the cabin this winter.

The winter here has been horrible' maybe 2 weeks of rideable snow, and I was gonna try to sell my sled but I doubt I could give it away now.
