Offered by BMW on CD. Not Mac-compatible, IIRC.

    MSRP $135.

No printed version available at this time.

Current item number should be 0179-7707-276.

Repair manual pirates sell them on ebay for around 8 bucks. We, of course, would never order such things and rather pay 130 bucks at the BMW dealership, won't we?

And don't forget the really evil ones who post it on the Internet via bit torrent.

Someone may have recently gotten the last copy of the most recent edition DVD from Germany and created a new torrent. A search for "reprom" on piratebay.org might be productive. But, I wouldn't know anything about such things.

I choose not to buy a pirated copy and got the EXPENSIVE DVD [says CD but it is a DVD according to what is printed on disc]...from DavidT...I suffer from a terminal case of conscious..[Windows 2000 or Windows XP and Microsoft Explorer 5.5 or higher]

The information is at best of minimal help since it most often defers to BMW diagnostic tools not available in my shop! ...but a least I can see how the thing is put together and in some cases taken apart...worth $135+? No, but what else is there? No written manuals...a good old "gotcha" from BMW...

It could be that some people would be stuck at 98.5% of the download and looking for a few more seeds ...

But, then again I wouldn't even know what a torrent is ...

It's sold out, even in Germany. The next version is due out in Sept 07.

That's dandy. Sure is a quick way to promote piracy.

    My "BMW Motorrad R Models K2x, Repair Manual 5th edition" has a part number of 01 79 7 707 276...

I got my from David T. and believe that only about 45+ copies came into USA; and I believe there were orders on them for weeks before they finally got here...sweet huh?

Very, very difficult for BMW to mass produce these; requires Black Forest Vodoo...unless of course there is erroneous or incomplete information on the DVD that they will not acknowledge or do anything about until they can sell a new one...or they may stone wall any "issues" and just sell a "6th Edition" without any corrections since that way they never have to admit to making an error...any questions? 'See your dealer' who will tell you straight out "WTF"!...cuz to error is human and BMW is super-human...damn, let me wipe the cynicism from my lips..

Oh yes, I reviewed the R&R of the key antennae and notwithstanding what has been on this forum [sorry Bobby, but it looks tough!]...it is not a simple or clean task....assuming you can even get the parts needed once you dig into it...and assuming your bike did not fail to start in Death Valley and your parched bones were found clutching at the ignition module when the BMW Service Rep found you since after all the bike was under warranty...

Repeat question: Has BMW always been like this?:puke1
