Mine was done today. Also I had complained about the lousy shifting clutchless thingy and asked about reprogramming. Found my 17 had a recall on it and they replaced the shifting unit and reprogrammed. Seems to work a little better.

Collars installed Saturday, 16 Dec at Morton's BMW. Forks were showing no separation so I wasn't worried.

OK. Doing my part to reach 200 pages.

Finally sporting the brand spanking new caps.

Glad I waited so the local tech(s) could practice on other bikes before they got to mine!

    Thread up from the dead.

Pinch me they called after about six months waiting to say they have plenty of parts. Now I only have to wait until the 23rd. As the previous poster said they have plenty of practice down doing everybody’s else’s.

Like many the wait has been long but i was in today having the recall work done. They replaced my stanchion tubes which included replacing my blown seals :)
As always the mechanic inspected my bike and i now have an appointment on the 19th to have the final drive replaced.
Im getting a new bike one free piece at a time lol

Off topic but I have a late model 2017 GS with the "shift assist" and I find that requires too much force to move through the gears. it almost feels like it may be damaging something. I did not know or see a recall on this item. Only one(s) I've seen are the forks and the reflectors. Is it better?

Since I expect to be on the road more this winter, I chose Michelin PR4s. Standard, or the hard compound fore the rear and the trials version for the front. (Size appropriate).
I thought I would enjoy smooth and quiet traction for a change.
