Of your first place trophy that is...
needs more polishing I guess, otherwise pretty much done.... other than the wind screen. I am still researching the pattern.... Tiffany's refuses to acknowledge any participation in the original design and no photos apparently exist. It seems that LC and Nemo got into a "tiff" over form vs. function. Tifany completed the work but vowed to never have anything to do with Nemo again... the order apparently stands to this day. the original windscreen was last seen briefly at the Louvre... it disappeared the day the Nazi took Paris. my search continues. anyway....
we got another foot of snow in the last few days.... I have to shovel the area in front of the garage door to get it out. it's hard to take a good pic in the confines of my shop.... better ones in a few days.
as for a trophy.... I have doubt.. if it was a Hardly, it would be a lock...
You sir, deserve 1st place.
That is a worthy masterpiece for grand Steam Punk adventures.
Each roll of the odometer will be a new trophy. I hope it gets ridden. Beautiful.
Outstanding effort and workmanship Sir
This is really beautiful! It's also a very original project, I think it's the first bike that I see being "steampunk-ed".
I love the attention for the details, really well done! Congratulations!
You're one seriously demented mofo
Don't forget to dress accordingly on your maiden voyage
I applaud you sir! Artistry and craftsmanship are top notch.
I really enjoyed seeing it at the show this weekend.
It looks even better in the flesh and seeing all the details together.
Excellent imagineering sir!
I took more pictures of your bike than any other.
Now, I have to know, are you going to amaze the masses by riding it in the D2D? I hope so!
Please post up some of those pictures.
By the way...Congratulations on your trophy, JagLite.
Outside after the show ...
(They stuck the bike in the wrong class.) : (
Too bad that i got the building reflected in the gauges here.
The culprit & his creation ...
Beezer, I doubt that you will want them but I have these pix in the original huge format of 4320 X 3240 & around 5.5 MB each if you want any of them. I know you can get all your own pix later.
That is fantastic!! You MUST do a ride report with this bike!!
Wow, very nice work. I've dreamed of a project like that but unlikely to happen ever. Totally pissed I could not get to the show and see it or real.
Beez that is super cool. Glad you got to get it outside and take some cool shots for us to enjoy.
Super cool and great looking bike.
Again, not to pick on anything, but I am sure those side panels are plastic, but are they not paintable with gloss and stripes like the rest of the bike? Just curious on the flat black. But seriously I love the bike and you have executed amazingly.
thanks guys. nice pix Tom S.... thank you for posting them. it's the first time I've seen it out in the sun too.
kellymac... the side panels are leather... the same leather as the seat
Jaglite.... as for D2D.... I'll start off by saying that originally I started on this project as more of a rat bike. I have a collection of crusty parts & gauges, etc but as it started to form up with all the brass & copper it became apparent that these things needed to be polished.... not rat. the project took a dramatic turn. I did intend to ride it to Dawson but now having second thoughts.... Top of the World can be so snotty.... and the chloride crap that eats metal.... anyway, I think not this year. maybe after the "new" wears off, or at least I get some miles on it so I can trust it. It should be good.... I had it down to the last bolt inside the engine & tranny... all back to new clearances (that alone took almost a year.... some parts are very rare). I'm sure a TOW trip would put dirt into crevices you could never get clean.... besides, pretty sure the Canadians wouldn't let me ride with my leather top hat.
ps.... congrats on the trophy... nice lookin skooter (you been hangin out with Squeeks?)
You need to post the finish pics in the Steampunk thread .
Amazing bike. Fantastic detail work!
I really like SteamPunk when done well. Have you seen Isabel? Same type of concept - Just a bit older of a Honda to start with
Lots more pics of the finished bike on page 23 of that thread.
yep... saw that a couple months ago... nice.... except his has chrome
That is cool Beez. That would have been my next thought, leather. I love it. That is one of those things you just can not quite see in pics but would pic up in a close up in person viewing. Perfect, just perfect.
Now it is time for yopu to build a real steam powered bike.....
