Looking at this one as a starter and hybrid for forest trails.
    Bill of Sale only.
Any opinions? What about getting a green sticker? :ear

The bike has the 'enduro' style body and seat (rare). This means a
bigger and more comfortable seat and a bigger gas tank

    The bike was entirely rebuilt
    New pistons and rings
    New rod and bearings
    All bearings and seals replaced
    New fork seals and boots
    New rear shocks
New chain and (I think) new sprocket
Tires are not new but in new condition
    Seat recovered
Tank was gone over by a professional. He repaired all cracks and painted it
    New levers and grips
    New throttle cable
    New wheel bearings
    New petcocks

It will take you anywhere you want to go! Looks like late `73-74.

Good looking specimen. I agree that if it shifts on the left it is probably a 73 0r 74. The 72 was the last one that shifted on the right.
The green sticker issue is something that will have to be worked out with dmv however. With just a bill of sale it will be hard to trace a history of ownership. It has been my experience that they usually want a title signed off by the previous owner or a mfg certificate of origin.

If you decide to go for the bike they have great engines with lots of low end torque and are great for vintage trials when set up properly. I have a 74 the I still ride in vintage events and it is more capable than I am.
How much is the owner asking?:deal

Well the owner probably has at least that much into it with the list of things that have been done.
If he is interested in helping you get a title and dmv cooperates it may be a good buy. If not I personally would pass on it but that is just me. The older bikes are definitely harder to find with all the dmv stuff in order so you will have to decide how important that is to you.
