    I need a better understanding of how ignition systems work. I know the either the CDI or the condensers store up a charge that is released to the coils and transformed into a high voltage charge that will jump the spark plug gap, but I need to know how to determine when a resistor cap is needed and how to tell if the caps I have are resistor type or not. Can anyone explain this or better, point me to a link or book with an in-depth explanation of ignition systems?

    BTW, if anyone has a lead on where I can get a cheap 2,3 coil for this bike I would sure appreciate it.
