Well finally got around to putting this thing back together. The cylinder head and deck were well within spec with regards to the amount of warpage so I replaced the valve seals, lapped the valves, and replaced all the gaskets. I tried for over a month to find a OEM head gasket but everyone kept canceling the order despite showing them in stock. I ended up ordering a gasket kit from David Silvers.

Once I was able to find a friend with the time to help me muscle the engine back into the frame everything went pretty smooth.

Thank you very much. I just got back from a 45 minute ride it's running better than ever. It had a weird hesitation in 4th and 5th gear at 3500rpm which is now gone. :clap

Now I need to work on the suspension. :lol3

Thanks! It took me a year and half but I got it where I want it.

I was wondering if someone would notice the bike change. :lol3 Back in Nov I sold the 2008 V-Strom 650 and picked up a slightly used 2012 Super Tenere. What a difference. :eek1

I can't help myself. I just found some forks on eBay and bought them. The ones on the bike are pitted and left one is leaking quiet a bit.

Plus I bought a new seat cover. :lol3
