    Simon,

Reading this brings back memories of our conversation we had two years ago back in Veracruz Mexico when I followed you professional travelers humbly on my bare bone Husky TE610. Since that conversation, I have explored the reality TV angle. I have talked to producers, I have helped film a project for the History Channel. I have made contacts and it's still impossible. There is no doubt in my mind that your story should be professionally documented. It is very unique and best of all REAL.

For what it's worth, I'd much rather watch you guys ride the world than Ewan and Charlie. You guy have the support of real people, and that is not to be taken lightly. Congrats for achieving that!

I feel fortunate that I was able to meet you guys and spend some time with you. Cheers, Luke

I agree with Fishfund...also, would be great to have an ADV long distance convention so you all could show off your stuff....Hmmmmm.....anyone say Las Vegas? And this could be like a forum for SCOUTS from reality TV and magazines.....

"Besides, much as we'd love their support, they didn't ask us to make this journey and no one owes us anything. There's no reason why our journey is more worthy of support than say, 'yours' or anyone else's for that matter."

Simon, it is these thoughts that resonate with me... Beside the fact that you two truly are great documentary writers, and outstanding photographers, your story is real and hits right at the heart. The reasons you started your journey, the real trials and tribulations that one would think happens when taking on a journey of this nature, goes beyond Ewan and Charlie.

    Thank you, Thank you!!

Have you ever considered contacting Lonely Planet? A mate of mine worked on their website for a few years upgrading it and says they may be interested. You guys have travelled off the beaten track for years and found some gems. And have the gps coordinates too. A thought to raise much needed cash. I may be in a position to get a contact if you are interested.

We just got back from a 4000km round trip down to victoria and alps, great ocean road etc. Some beaut off the beaten track roads.

    Cheers
    Rich

Hi guys, I'll read through the info you've just posted in a bit, we've got some really bad internet at the moment and it keeps crashing. We've just found out we're the cover story for the June 2011 issue of RoadRUNNER. Mum will be pleased.

Yes, we've tried to make contact a few times. Our last effort resulted in a very blunt, even rude response, which basically read..."if we want this kind of story or content, we have professionals that we'll commission, you are not, don't contact us again. We were both a bit taken aback with the tone:huh We'll try again, maybe we just got someone on a bad hair day?

JohnyDakar, wow, I've just picked up your PM, We're heading off now to ride south but Lisa and I are very keen to follow up your ideas and to see where this could take us. Great ideas and a world of possibilities that could benefit all, I'll PM you later when we have a better connection but thank you so much for the ideas, effort and time to PM us. :clap

Doc Rich, we have contacted LP but it was a while ago, we didn't get a response. If you have the chance to pass us any new contact info it would be massively appreciated. Like i said earlier often a introduction or even a passing reference to someone on the inside can get us further than a 'cold-call email' which goes into the trash. Thanks in advance Doc.

hakpoh...many thanks, much appreciated. Hope you enjoy the calendar!:freaky.

Still putting together the Nepal section but it's great to look through the photos again. here's another to wet your appetite...

This was taken from our camp spot and what we woke to most mornings.

The storms we experienced were often beautiful but fierce, this one threw down golf ball sized hail which broke car windows, our tent, luckily was undamaged...the bikes also escaped any harm.

This was the incredible light show we were treated to during our first week in Nepal. I shot this whilst sitting in the front of our tent.

...yep, us getting all loved up...:clap:evil

Right, got to go and hit the road we're heading south today to Chiang Mai, where we'll wait out the craziness of Thai New Year...should be interesting. We'll also get the Nepal RR online here.

Hope you like the piccies, the landscape really was incredible!!!!!

well...as you can see from one of Simons earlier posts...we arrived in Chaing Mai OK. just in time for the celebration of Songkran (New Year) - this is where water is thrown at anything and everything that moves! so we were warned not to ride! here in Chaing Mai the festivities take on a real fervour! and last 5 full days. it is sheer and utter madness in a very good way! :rofl:1drink

our task whilst we were here was to upload new RR for Nepal! well as you can see thats not happend!

we got a little side-lined by attacking people with super power water guns! :clap and of course being attacked in turn with then usually buckets of water full of iced-water. a shock but nice in a perverse way on a hot day!

Simon is working on his bike today....but we promise Nepal and photos will be up before the night (our night!) is over. :-)

thanks for being so patient guys!
happy Thai New Year. the year here is 2554! :slurp

Glad you taking part and having fun in the festivities. Hmmm, buckets of iced cold water ...... 5 days of country wide wet t-shirt competitions is more than any warm blooded man could handle. LUCKY SIMON !!!! :rofl

Look forward to the next installment and a few "wet" pics

    Have fun

Loved the 4 shots you posted up on the 9th. REALLY wets my appetite for Nepal and the the Cashmere region. As usual, FANTASTIC stuff. Thanks so much for posting! Sometimes I daydream about how easy going life would be on the road, but it just occurred to me tonight that you two seem REALLY BUSY!! :lol3 I don't know where you find the energy to keep us all at bay with your ride reports, stories and such. You have great patience and dedication to your mission. Keep the wheels down and rollin'!
