Bought this one at an auction in 1987 and still have it today.
It had been abandoned at the local airport for 8 years.

    Loved my 1981 IT175 (white.)
Moved to that from my 76 yz125 which was an upgrade from my 1972? TM125.

The IT was the perfect woods (everglades) bike back in the day.
I couldn't resist a Husky XC250 that was offered to me though so I passed the IT on to a friend.

Got to ride one again about 10 years ago.

EDIT- I thought my post sounded familiar, I posted on the other page, but I'm leaving this and adding a picture of my old yz.

The IT 175 was the most enjoyable bike I've ever owned but living in Canada and riding the trails had a lot to do with it. It was sure perfect for those old trails though.

eBay, someone had it in the US in a crate brand new; 20 years old (5kms from factory). I went through it and running great. After about a month - 1100 kms! Very nice ride with a certain ease about it. Nice little "dual sport" from birth...

This is not my bike, but i do have one in the basement to restore. My grandfather bought me one of these in 1976, its a 1975 Yamaha RS100, had the matching helmet and low miles. Really wanted a Dt model, he really didnt know,i pretty much abused this bike and it just ran and ran. I was looking for some old rms and came across a 1980 rm100 and a 1975 yam rs100 on the same trailer and yet bought both for $250, it was a great day for me.
