Where is the battery ground connection (off the negative battery terminal) that connects to a frame or engine lug to complete the ground circuit.*Any ideas? photos?

I'm not talking about that bolt you jump start it from, but where the wiring harness connects to the engine block.

It has to be somewhere, right?

Under the plastic cover for connectors on the right side of the engine. Right above the housing for the stator. :deal

It's easy, I've done it. Lots of pics. There is a good image of how it goes in the service manual. The beefiest part is at the shock adjuster, so start replacing it back there first then work forward. Look how it goes around the engine frame there - the thick branches - one goes up, one goes down. Just go slow, remember it only goes in one way, so almost impossible to screw up. Keep this post updated and I can help you. This is what mine looked like- yuck.
Oh, make sure you have the correct one going back in. Ie abs, year.
