I dunno. Seems like an awful lot of bikes being hauled either by truck or trailer for the little bike rides. It'll be a cold day in the 'hot place' when I ride 'Papa Smurf's Cousin IT' all the way up to Airhead's. The sections of the route on Rte 125 were bad enough!:lol3

Speaking of cold days...isn't all this snow falling here today purty?

You snore like a wounded lion. We like you in the camper far away from the tents.

We really try to encourage people not to bring trailers or RVs. Like I said in the info post, there will be a few RVs there, but those belong to folks who will be up for the week to help with planning, etc. Some folks will trailer up for the small bike ride, too...we had a fair number of 450EXC type bikes last year...

So the answer is, there will be some trailers and trucks there, only 1 or 2 pre-approved RVs...but if you are coming up on a KLR I would encourage you to ride (plenty of folks will ride 650s up).

That said, if the only way you can make it is with the trailer, then welcome!

Hey Sallydog, there are a few folks who ride up from NJ. You could ride up with them, or if you want, you could probably pick up a few folks along the way (who want to bring theri smaller bikes) to cut down on costs.

Although I enjoy the Small Bike ride, I have to say, it is MUCH nicer to ride up to CroMag through the mountains, but in my case it would mean only 1 bike - although part of the fun is mixing it up from year to year too.

I can appreciate the "Royal Pain" it is to drive up from Jersey thorugh/around the NYC area and get caught in traffic, so I am happy to offer my place as an intermediate staging place for anyone who wants to ride up from southern CT. You can come up the night before and stay here then ride up if you want. Or I'd be happy to let you bring my little bike and my "Stuff" and then I can ride my bigger bike up.

    Thanks
    CT-Buck

    Hi Mikey,

I can't believe the IT is even street legal.

The Flamingo Lounge is an institution at this point, besides I know when CroMag gets lost getting the Donuts and Coffee I can show up and get your table scraps.

    Hey now,

I haven't been to a CMCC in a while but I have been to and hosted similar events.

The thing about an event like this is 200 bikes and tents in a field makes for a great time.

Take the same event and scatter 50 four wheeled vehicles and or trailers all over the place and the flavor changes a bit, plus for every F150 of FJ cruiser with a trailer you could have put two campers with their bikes. That is before someone shows up with an RV and runs the generator. Even at noon that can be obnoxious after a while (depending on how loud of course).

It is nice when a couple of folks who are friends with the host bring vehicles / RV's etc because they can be set up in such a way to help the host host. Because he knows they are coming he can plan accordingly (electricity for ex).

I have also been to events where there is designated parking for trucks and trailers to address the stuff above. I have done this by parking them along the perimeter or on the other side of a hedge. The original Cromag Campouts had such an area.

I'm not the host. The host has expressed a desire not keep this as "pure" as possible. He has also shown to be willing to make exceptions.

If I wanted to arrive on four wheels I would send the host a note and try to grease the wheels by letting him know what I can bring along that will benefit the event. I mean if you are going to bring four wheels the least you could do is stop off for a keg or two. :freaky

If anyone is coming a long way and wants to post up overnight in Rhode Island let me know.

Truck with a bike in the back is fine...we had a few of those last year. Takes up less room and is less likely to get mired in the field...

    Welcome aboard!

More like 205 pages. (I win, I win!)

This thread will meander like a good late night CCO campfire conversation.

Umm, what was your first bike? No, wait, what kind of tires are you running?

    Who biffed on the whoopsies?

    And other favorite questions.

    See ya'll there.
