I'm used to this on my off-road thumpers, ut is this normal on an F800GS?
They all do that , seriously they do, though mine has mellowed out quite a bit from new. If you got the fancy-dancy computor thingy, set it on the instant fuel mileage setting and see what kind of mileage you get on decel, they run very lean at times.
I love it when mine does that!! Doesn't do it every time I close the throttle. They all do that, even the boxer GS does it.
I love it too, I find on the deceleration if I hold the throttle slightly open I can get it to do it all the more
Yup, same for me.
Me too. I do it on purpose sometimes just cuz.
Sweet sweet sound!
Not as good as when it reaches 5.5K RPM tough!
I wish it made more sound so cagers could notice me. Got to get a louder pipe.
Yep, pretty cool, will do it even more with an aftermarket can. My 650 does it too.
Mine's done it since day 1. It's now day 369
Great noise! Rode my 1150 in 160 miles of mixed roads last Sunday; the pop-pop seemed more pronounced when I'd come off heavy throttle, crested a rise, then decelerated down hill.
Do you ever search before posting a new thread?
Mine does it! I enjoy the sound, especially when I take the silencer out of the Akrapovic (although it is cool too with it in).
BTW, my SV650SF did it WAY more during the hot summer when I put on the full system Yoshi race exhaust and had it remapped... Not sure if ambient temperature has much to do with it though...
