While I readily admit Im GPS dumb. Why can't I download this set of tracks to my computor when I have the Garmin programs installed and can up load to Topo from my 60CSx? Keeps telling me gpx files not supported even downloaded EasyGPS to fix the file errors, No go. What am I missing?

I had the same problem until I opened MapSource first, tried downloading the file. Then it worked.

Don't forget----you guys can e-mail me and I'll send the same file in a Garmin .gdb format. I did this for a lot of folks last year.

AdvRider won't let you post a .gdb file----never new why---it just won't do it.

GOT IT! Dragging it from where I saved it to Mapsource worked like a charm. Its now living happily on my Garmin and my computor.
    Thanks Charlie!!!

I've never followed the colored line before like this so I think I'll practice around here on some the short runs I have saved.

Thanks again to all who tried to help me!!!:clap:clap:clap

Can anyone clue me in on how to convert the 2011 Swinging Bridges tracks to a route for this brand new Zumo I recently purchased? I would hate to think that it cant be done and that I wasted my money. This was the whole reason I purchased this thing was so I could load the Bridges ride and not have to depend on someone else. HELP!!!

Can't you just load it as a track? That's what I did, on my 550 and the wife's 450. But to answer your question I don't know, as I struggle just to load it as a track! But I'm sure some one out there can help.

Is the Wentzville track a ride on your own deal, if so is anyone going Thursday or staying Monday to ride it? Is it a safe solo ride?

After messing with various software for the last few days I have managed to convert all of Mark's tracks to Meridian .trk format. If anyone else is using an old GPS like mine and needs these files email me off list and I'll send 'em. I also discovered that the Meridian will work on a six volt electrical system so I could bring my old 1975 Honda XL-350 next weekend. (but probably not since the kick-stand fell off and it leaks oil)

Many thanks to Mark for uploading the tracks.

Maybe I missed the info, but I can't find anywhere how many miles this adventure is going to be.
If I have a street 500cc bike will I likely make it without too much trouble or is this for off-road bikes?
Thank you for any info, so I don't get in over my head if the pathways are rough.

It's short of 500 miles total for both days combined. You can short cut. NO OFF ROAD, some creek crossing, all on public roads. I think a average rider could make any of the creeks on a street bike,(I know I could, hell my wife could) unless there are heavy rains. YRMV

I have wanted to do this ride every year since I have read about it. I have currently a street bike, so I thought it would be possible to do it all, except for the very deeeeeeeeeeeepest of water crossings. Besides, if I did fall in the creek, there are willing and able inmates to help pick you up!

Looks like I may be in town this year vs. out on a business trip, so I have it penciled in (again) in the calendar. Won't commit until I know for sure.
