Just got through with this epic event through Mendocino Forest to the coast and back over two days. Huge variety of trails from gnarly single track to endless gravel forest road. This track includes most, but not all the hard splits. A very fun event and some very cool trails.

Most years it is all open which is why it is bad form to post tracks of comercial rides on the Internet. If people started doing this for my rides, I would quit giving out GPS tracks and go to Roll Chart only or get each rtider to sign a non-disclosure contract like most companies do when they show you their stuff.

    Jerry,

I would never post tracks for a commercial ride, where the organizer invested in the route as service to his customers, or otherwise indicated that the route should not be shared openly. In this case, it was an open invitation, club ride on public roads and documented OHV routes only, with full support from the Forest Service.

It can be ridden at any time of year, and no one from the club has ever said that they care about protecting the route from being shared with others. Furthermore, the roll charts were not actually followed. This is only the route that I rode while attending the event along with 600 other riders. My sense is that I'm just sharing the love, not stepping on feet.

    cheers

I heard there were both easy and hard routes for this ride. Do you think either/both are do-able on a KTM 990 Adventure by a rider with good (not expert) skills?

    Thx

There were approx 10 ktm 990's on the ride that I saw

1 rider did all the hard ways (expert rider)
The other 9 took the easy way

The easy way is perfect for the ktm 990

    Look into the la-b-v ride
It's palmdale to Barstow to Vegas
There will be an adventure route
    Duelsport route
    And hard route
I did the duelsport route on my 990 the year before last and it's fun and challenging

Four sidehacks did the easy route one year. There's a thread in the hacks forum somewhere...

I'm having trouble finding tracks for the ride I did back in 2010 or 2011 and we did nothing but hard loops and that's what I prefer

Did this route a month ago. The route between Willits and Ft Bragg has 2 locked gates and about 20 downed trees on it. With some talent you can ride over or around the downed trees or drag your bikes under them. You have to lift your bikes over the gate at the Willets end, there is no way around it. You can ride around the gate at the Ft Bragg end of you have talent. This is a county road and once they clear the downed trees I'm sure it will be open again. There are also a few downed trees on Navarro Rd that you can drag your bike under and there is a locked gate at the Ukiah side that you have to ride around.
