Sacramento Mile this Saturday night!
Original SoCal now living in the PacNorth West is looking forward to Castle Rock. Glad to see it is making a comeback. Would love to see a good short track event on Fri night - maybe in the future.

Peoria TT this weekend!
Peoria TT is one of my favorites. It's been described as going to a picnic and having a race break out and that's exactly what its like. I've been to 3 or 4. I was passing through there today but I heard Chris Carr was racing in Colby Kansas and then Stockton KS so I'm diverting there on my way home.. DogBoy, looks like we live in the same city..
Good to see more local flat track fans, MrEndo.
Wiles domination continues at Peoria. Great first win for Dominic Colindres in Pro Singles. Thoughts to the injured riders and hopes for a full recovery. That crash in the Pro Singles main looked ugly in the video I saw.
So Im going to be in Indy this weekend and want to see the flat track race. I see where I can buy bleacher seats but I hear the infield is where you want to be. Are there tickets for this are or do you need connections?
You might want to ask in the Indy MotoGP thread (clicky) as several of the people in that thread are attending the Indy Mile. My experience with the Sacramento Mile is that high in the grandstand on the front straight is best for seeing the entire track although seeing the bikes go by up close is unforgettable. I don't know what infield access Indy has.
Coolbeth back on the factory Harley this week after his bizarre accident that broke his leg. Mile is always a toss up, and wouldn't be surprised to see him near the front.
Should be a great race this weekend.
Followed the Indy mile via Flat Track Live on Facebook and AMA Pro Live Timing. Must have been a fantastic race. I as bummed for Bryan Smith as I am happy for Halbert.
What an awesome experience! That was my first.mile, and it was really, really cool.
Weather here is awesome. After a pretty nasty summer here according to my brother (with whom I am staying - more about him in a bit), this weekend has seen fantastic weather. Low humidity, temps in the low 80s, and lots of sun.
Busy day as my brother force-marched me around the city. He is obviously really proud of this place, as he insisted I see all of it. All of it. Really. My feet are seriously killing me right now.
We got to the state fairgrounds with enough time to spare so we could walk around a bit (as if I had not done enough walking between yesterday and today). I had never been to a state fair before. I did not realize the organizers conspired to come up with ever more insanely food types. Deep fried butter? Really? Who made that up? More importantly, why? Because the stack of deep-fried twinkles and the bloomin' onions weren't enough? I am stunned this entire state does not suffer from major coronary issues.
We then heard the qualifying start for the 450s, so we went into the track area. Saw great riding, then they opened the paddock area for an hour, so we went there. My brother, who has never been into motorcycles, loved that part. I picked up a couple signed posters, which was cool. I enjoyed talking with the racers.
So we return to the stands so we can watch qualifying. Then during a break, Colin Edwards starts launching t-shirts into the stands. And my brother, who has NEVER been into bikes, gets one. . Unbelievable.
Then during a red-flagged portion of the lightweight classes, they put Rossi on the stand for a quick interview, which is where we learn Nicky has been declared unfit for tomorrow's race.
Except for that, it was a great experience, and I will do it again.
Are any of these racers being televised?
..MAV tv.. a few have been shown on NBC"sport" also.
was really hoping Bryan Smith would be able to pull it off...sounds like he had some issues with the bike
Met Guy Coulon and Dovi in the Indy Mile pits.
Zakk Palmer is the man to watch in the future ... Boy can ride
How many of you have been to Pomona?? how does the infield access work ? I am contemplating between getting the nice VIP seats and Infield or just getting General Admission and the Infield Pass because I am pretty sure we wont be able to come and go freely and I figure I would probably mainly be in the infield so why waste money on the good seat ??
