We are gonna need some help this year. Maybe we should cut up the fixins the night before, while we're drinking around the campfire  Then we're assured that Fishy will be lopping off at least one of his fingers! :lol3

Tetanus, yes, but what about rabies?? The rest of us need to be very concerned about whether or not the varmints that are preparing the food may or may not be hazardous to our health. :lol3

Hey JC, I am planning on leaving Beaverton at 5:00pm on the Tuesday, meeting up with asrvivor in Boring at about 6:00pm along with scott_pdx & jungleman (probably?) and picking up three cows (that is Gary...not the meat for AJ's famous fajhita's)....think we are planning to camp in fossil, then ride to Enterprise on the Wednesday morning (looking for gravel but probably finding a lot of pavement too). If you are interested in joining us PM me. There maybe others in out party final plans have not been laid down yet.

Will be planning a Dug Bar/Hat point ride out of Enterprise on the Thursday (back on Camp Creek Rd! :clap).

I texted a friend that has driven probably every road over there but haven't heard back from him. But from Google Earth it looks pretty good. But at-

    44 52' 59.53" N
    119 24' 39.88" W

There's a stream crossing, on Google it looks pretty dry. But this time of year it could be running higher and tougher to cross. I was also considering running that route, might be best to ask a local in Monument if it's a good crossing.

Is anyone here familiar with Willow Creek Rd/NF53 from Heppner to Ukiah?

I may have already done it myself, but don't remember. Is it open all the way through? Is it big bike friendly?

I've been on parts of that road, and it has huge signs saying Private Property est of Monument. On the other hand, others have told me it is a public road and the land owners are trying to scare people away.

By the way it is very slow going.

    Hi Mark!
How you going to get from Beaverton to Boring in an hour at that time of day???
i'm going to ride w/ you guys also.
Question. what route are you guys taking to Fossil? I did that two years ago, 4610 to Barlow Rd. to Tygh Valley, Maupin, to Bakeoven, Clarno etc. That was an 8 hour day! Leaving at 6:00pm we'll be lucky to get out of the Mt Hood east area by 8:00pm! I'm just along for the ride so I'm not planning anything, just curious if you guys are planning on pavement all the way out there, or what your route might be!!! you can pm me the details if you know them.
    Thanks,

Sounds good. If ya'll dont mind a professional Noob tagging along, then I'm game. I didnt want to ride over on I-84, and being so new to this two-wheel thing I dont know any other way over. PM coming to you soon, so lets keep in touch when it gets closer and I know for sure the wife will let me leave Tuesday rather than Wednesday. :deal
P.S.... I snore like a MOFO.... so I will setup the tent far far away...but bring those earplugs :ear

We'll see how it plays out. I'm not a very good leader since I just wander around aimlessly and find my way back sooner or later. :lol3

It looks like there will be plenty of ladies this year and many of them and even some of the guys that would prefer a mellow ride so I'm sure something will get put together. There are also many of the gals that will enjoy the more spirited rides that the hair on fire crowd will be doing.

'Bout time :deal I was starting to think my buddy wasn't going to make it this year. I'm glad you will be showing up. :clap By the way has anyone told Jim E Blue Pants when this is? He never checks in on ADV but always enjoys this gathering.

As you all start your planning for the ride over to Enterprise if you would like me to keep a list of who is leaving from where and when I can do that on the first page.

So if you have an open invitation for others to ride with you to Enterprise. Let me know and I will start keeping track. That way we can have one place to look for people to ride with.

Anyone leaving Asotin Thurs. morning and riding dirt to Enterprise that is patient enough to let me tag along?

Who would be interested in riding with me one day? I will probably only have one day of riding with AJ, 'cuz the guys need to be guys and I don't want to be one of the gals that keeps them from "doin' their thang," so to speak. So...I would really like to go to Hat Point or anywhere else for that matter, with some of the ladies. It's a great opportunity to get to know one another and forge some new friendships as well, so.....who's IN?

Well, I might skip out a little early. There is always the option to meet the others at the campground in Fossil, since my leaving later will necessitate slabbing it for me anyway. That way the other can take a funner route if they have more time.

After fossil, the route will likely have some more slab unless we can find some more fun sub-routes off the beaten path. I have had so much on recently I haven't given it much thought yet.

Might not be a be a bad idea.

Personally I'm not able to get Wednesday off, so am leaving Tigard area hopefully by 6pm on Wednesday and plan on burning up some miles (all slab).

Wednesday Night: My plan is to cross 205 bridge to hwy 14 and take that out (I hate I84) and maybe camp near Maryhill State Park (113miles), or boondock it as needed if a nice spot is found.
Thursday: Then complete the ride Thrusday morning by crossing at Umatilla and take hwy 37 to Athena, then cross the Blue Mountains on Hwy 204 via Tollgate (221 MIles). Did the TollGate grade a couple of years ago via a bicycle and blew my knee out on the climb...so i owe that grade an ass-whuppin on my Motorcycle.

Open to any workin stiffs that have to report for duty on Wednesday. Can meet in SW Portland, near the PDX Airport, HWY 14 someplace, or MaryHill State Park. PM me if interested.

Otherwise see y'all there Thursday afternoon.

    -= Scott

Does anyone know a route east from Grass Valley, pave, gravel, or easy two-track, that will come out on 206, closer to Condon than to Wasco?

And, I do mean easy two-track; keep in mind that I am not Apple Jam. :D

The tough part would be jumping the John Day River canyon :lol3

But I could be wrong :lurk

I was wondering about that big grove in the map.

Oh well, Wasco is a nice town. :D

Edit: But, how about one of those roads that hook into Monkland Ln, coming out at what looks to be a spot a few miles from the bridge on 206?

If those go through, that would trim at least some pave from the route.
