    Hey gang...

On my 990 I can't open the little protective cap which stops dust getting into the key slot on my right hand side fuel filler cap. I can life it up about 3mm but no further...I have used quite a bit of force, and have stopped as I don't want to break it..!

It's as if a little rock or something has gotten in there but I have poured water over it..and also blown in there as hard as I can several times...no joy.

Wierd..!!! Anyone else had this issue..??

Ktm warrantied mine and replaced it. Be sure to replace the key barrel in the new one with your original so you can use the same key.

Damn...that sucks...can I just force it open and break it..not keen on not being able to open my tank filler...I guess I can fill the left then let it equalize tho..? How long does that normally take..is it practical to just do that, at a servo..or do you need to wait a while etc...I'm planning to ride today..!

I'm thinking ...I'll take a video of the problem..stick a screwdriver under and lever the hell out of it..then they can replace, yes, under warranty still, thank f..k

Mine would stick about every other fill up. And the last time it stuck it pissed me off and I just pried it up and snapped it off. If the bike wasn't still under warranty I probably wouldn't have worried about it too much. But since it was it was worth getting it taken care off. Took it into the dealer and they had one in stock. Changed out the barrel and I was out of there in about 30 minutes.

Don't break it , It needs lube. I used some Superlube on mine, hasn't given me a problem since.

Mine stuck. Oiled and then worked it up and down with a piece of wood and hammer. Just taped it up and down for awhile and it unstuck. If you pry it up in one motion it might break.

Mine was more of a defective part than a lube problem. And that's why it was covered under warranty.
