Did you take the Blue Mesa Road cutoff from SR149 to US50? That's pretty scenic....

and I stand by the need for Corkscrew to be dry. hee hee hee.

Rooty is pretty wise to living on the lam but Albert Eineswine is pretty sensitive about being served his dinner in an untimely manner. If I get a swine car, Albert would go with me. I used to take him for rides in the backseat of my car.

Yes, CR26 form 149 to 50..... Is nice, easy, "good view riding".

Then it is a 20 mile run west on 50 and a southern turn on Cimarron Road, past Silver Jack Resevior and up over Owl Creek Pass.

Yep.....Corkscrew, over Hurricane, California and Cinnamon Passes will be fun part.....

I did all of those passes last year while I was riding the Colorado TAT.

Cinnamon was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and Corkscrew was awesome! (But a bit scary on a fully-loaded bike).

Requesting the days off...This looks like a great event and good way to meet some of the inmates I see on ADV all the time.

A riding buddy did Corkscrew with me a couple of years ago.....on his VStrom DL1000 and Givi Top Case.....and slick highway tires. He did really well, considering he was new to the VStrom. On a couple of the switchbacks, he had to swing wide....back up and make a little first gear run at it. But....no problems.

It's doable, especially in a group where everyone is helping each other.

After all, Adventure is about testing one's skills.

That fear completely makes sense, being that your bike has the tendency to fall on the downhill side.:rofl

You need to teach it to fall uphill.

    Yeah, yeah... :bluduh

That's the only good thing about riding in Florida. There is only so far that you can fall... (And as much as I fall, that is pretty important...).

I'm probably in, though Geek's been trying to get me to do a Dinosaur run so I'll see if I can work my schedule out.

John...sure wish I could join you on your scouting trip, but unfortunately will be in Salt Lake City, UT that weekend.

I've been checking and I've still not made it onto the "in" list. I sent my "IN+1" on the 4th. Looking forward to the RMAR!! :clap:clap

    Scouting Trip:

I would like to come, but I got to play it by ear as the baby might be here then as that is close to the June 6th deadline. So if I did, it be last minute, but don't count on me.

I think I can make that! Since I would be coming down HWY285 from the Denver area, how about we meet up in Buena Vista, Salida or Poncha Springs?
