The plot thickens.
I'm assuming they don't want to wait around for Spies.
Kawasaki retains Tom Sykes for 2013
Kawasaki should tie him up for more than one year. That guy is a great fit for them and really showcases the bike & team.
Davies to BMW?
Haslam to Ten Kate?
Chaz on a good bike on a factory team? This could be good.
Leon, I wish him well. Maybe the bike will suit him better. I really had hoped he'd be the first to get a win on the BMW, but it didn't happen that way.
If true, I am very happy for Chaz - he thoroughly deserves it. I'm also sad the way things have turned out for Leon - he's from my part of the world so I always had a soft spot for him. I really thought he was coming good early in the season but he never seemed to recover after Donnington.
Haslam to Ten Kate Honda for 2013
That's like Spies going to a second rate Ducati MotoGP squad... Hope the come out with a little more power for Haslam. The current honda is a nail.
WSBK to Laguna or COTA in 2013?
No Miller for WSBK next year? Has an break between MMP and WSBK been announced?
Odd for CN to publish such an incomplete schedule. Whats the point? Are they trying to go all Superbikeplanet.com on the rumor front?
Wow - why no Miller? It seemed that there was a real synergy in having the race there. Maybe somebody is backing up the money truck to draw WSBK away from SLC.
But what's a parking spot cost?
Damn, what the hell is happening to poor Leon.
I don't think Ten Kate is the worst place he could have ended up. He did well on the underfunded Stiggy Honda and has BSB experience on it too.
I think he has put too much pressure on himself this season though, tried too hard to out perform Marco.
At all the televised races i watched this year I really wanted the "pocket rocket" to be at the pointy end, if only because he's Ron's kid.
I do wish him luck on Ten Kate- maybe the combo will get him closer to the front.
Yeah, sort of like Spies I think. Leon is a top tier racer. Nothing has happened to him other than his results sagged a little. IMO, Marco took over the team on him so it's best he moves on. I like the Ten Kate option! HRC might even get a little more involved in development.
He never seems to have recovered from Donnington. He was looking pretty good for the first win for BMW up till that point and then when Melandri got it, it all went downhill after that.
I am a fan, but he has seemed a little bit desperate this season. I think he could be on the podium regularly if he just settled down a little bit.
But then again, I have no clue as to what is really going on with him.
It's simple: Miller couldn't sell enough tickets. SLC doesn't have a large pool of racing enthusiasts to draw from and the nearest population centers are all considerable distances away. And, IMHO, once you are there you are faced with what has to be one of the worst spectator tracks yet devised; I had photo credentials and hated the place.
Laguna is a good place for spectators, not to mention traveling motorcyclists. I have my doubts about how nice the new Austin track will be (being a ground-up design for modern F1 is a major impediment to good spectating) but it's not surprising WSBK would be looking at it.
