I was installing a scott oiler this weekend and had to remove the right side fuel tank, first time that I've had it off the bike. I had no issues removing it, other than the plastic hose fittings, those things seem incredibly fragile for a press fit hose nipple. Sure enough, I broke one trying to get the top hose back on, snapped the threaded portion in half, heading to the dealer this afternoon to see if they have any in stock.

Is this a known weakness for these bikes? Is anyone retrofitting these plastic connectors with brass fittings?

Realized this week that it's a vent line fitting, very top edge of the tank, one of the balancing lines to keep the fuel level, although I'm pretty sure it's just air that moves through the line. I'm taking it out riding tomorrow without the line hooked up, hoping it doesn't splash fuel all over me :)
