Yeah, I know what you mean. We had two events here at Virginia Raceway in Saluda. This is a first class facility. If you know anything about NASCAR, the track was built by the Sawyers after they sold Richmond Intl. Raceway, so no expense was spared. At both events, the stands were full. Both fans and riders raved about the track. By all accounts, the events were a huge success, but they never came back. I've heard rumors as to why they never came back, but as usual the fans are the ones who really lost.

Santa Rosa was a great race, had dust, flying dirt, then the inside groove came in and the race was on. It did look like an old school flattrack race, lots of sideways action.

The 2012 Sac Mile is on youtube also.

Stockton (sort of) 1/2 mile tonight! Early blast of valley heat brought in just for the out-of-towners. :) I'll be there.

live feed is horrible, a video from an I-phone would be better! but I'm sure the ama is patting their backs saying how great it is.
can't wait till lima and Hagerstown to see them in person.

That was our test pilot live feed. We are ramping up to 5 or more cams as the season progresses. It has the potential to be cool. Why must we be so negative about a new thing to expand the possiblities I wonder?

Great racing! The track was damn near perfect,hard-packed and smooth. Not one red flag during all the races.Weather was hot!Pretty good crowd, should have had more, but good nonetheless.40+ singles,30+ twins.
Fast time turned by Singles champ overall Vanderkur overall!(A first,I think) Fastest by a twin,Jeff Carver just a tick behind on an XR.The Harleys dominated over the Kawasaki's,Suzuki's,et al. all night. Was a perfect night for Sammy Halbert.Won his heat, the dash-for-cash and a come-from-behind 25 lap main over Brad Baker and 3rd place Henry Wiles. This was Halbert's first race after ACL surgery.Impressive![IMG]

Pretty sure Jared would have traded that dash win for a top 5 in the main! I think Bryan Smith was a little disappointed in his finish too. Hank on a FAST Harley..... Now that could be interesting this year:clap.

My brother in law and I are riding up again from Tennessee. We have been going for many years now and always look forward to the mile at Springfield. It seems like everyone brings their A game to Springfield for sure. If you see two old guys in the bleachers down towards the first turn with bags of kettle corn half the size of their bodies, that's us. ::D

I always the describe the Flat Track fan demographic as: white guys in their late forties who have gray hair and white guys in their late forties who used to have gray hair.

OK, the Springfield rainout was a bummer but you Midwest types get a bonus later in the year.

In other news. Multi-time World Superbike Champ and MotoGP race winner Troy Bayliss may come over and race AMA Pro Flat Track at Pomona on October 12.
