Good news but still leaves questions about coverage of Miller, XR1200 racing at Indy and AMA Pro during the WSBK weekend at Laguna. The New Jersey round is the only one confirmed to have TV coverage.

DMG needs to go to some kind of internet based coverage and give up on a TV deal. The viewership on TV must be pathetic anyway.

According to this posting on SuperBikePlanet.com AMA's audiance rivaled MotoGP and World Superbike. No mention of where the numbers came from.

Thanks for the link, those numbers are pretty pathetic. I'd rather pay for a mc racing internet feed than see these series flounder chasing a mainstream tv deal.

Anyone know if/when the Laguna Seca AMA races will be telecast? I still don't know the results and have been avoiding all the likely places that would have them.

    TIA

    and BTW...

The AMA TV listings still don't show anything for the final round at Laguna with WSBK or the XR1200 races from Indy. Grrrrr.

It's the teams and SCRAMP that are screwed. SCRAMP is Laguna. They promote their own events.

I suspect the DMG effort is still profit proof. Hence these on going issues...

Just, what is the point of putting on races in 2013 without broadcasting them? :dunno

Irrelevant and obsolete are words that come to mind.

I will be able to catch up on last week's WSS race this weekend and watch BSB live if I choose to do so. If not, I can catch the video later.

They still haven't broadcast the Laguna Moto GP weekend DMG races, have they?

They did broadcast the Laguna DSB and Superbike races on CBS Sports. It took a couple of weeks but they finally did it. All AMA races from that weekend are available on the AMA website (via YouTube) http://www.amaprolive.com/rr/dvr/

Its just ridiculous that they announced a TV package with wording about broadcasting races live (Superbike) or same day (DSB) "through 2014" and it was a lie because they knew all along they weren't going to broadcast even the whole 2013 schedule. I thought they were getting their act together with some of the live streaming and then the delayed, archived races on YouTube but obviously those were just distractions from the real problem, as usual.

I don't see how the series can survive without TV.

    Thank you. :thumb

It is ominous for the series. Although, they didn't say anything about 2014.

But, seriously, it makes as much sense as saying they made new episodes of Downton Abbey/Breaking Bad/Boardwalk Empire/insert your favorite tv show or movie, but they won't be broadcasted.

Here is an excerpt from the original release on the "new" tv package:
    http://www.amaproracing.com/rr/news/index.cfm?cid=56223

This really gives the reader the impression that all races will be televised. They never mention that either Laguna round was an exception.

That's because they didn't realize the Laguna rounds were owned by Dorna!

"...they are already working with us on the plans to provide an even better television broadcast package for the 2014 season."

:lol3 given this years experience, that won't be hard to top.
