SX is tough to cover when so much is going on all over the track. There were many times when you could hear the crowd roar while they were showing something else.

Still, watching SX live is the way I would rather spend my Saturday nights (as sad as that may sound :rofl ).

I think that these are average lap times. RV might have had the fastest lap at some point during the race but he probably had a few laps where his bike was on the ground that dropped him down in the average lap time category. And race finish category.....

I don't think that sounds sad at all, maybe because I'm the same way. :rofl

But in less than 2 weeks I'll be watching SX live AND at the same time on that crazy big TV screen in Cowboy Stadium. :clap
It's pretty bad when you pay all that money to be there in person and find yourself watching the race on TV. :eek1

When you're there watching is when you understand how much is going on at the same time. The crowd roars and you can't figure out what happened where.

Those were each riders personal fast lap for the race.

At some point RV may very well have been the fastest rider on the track. But we saw what happened to him too. The rain was making it tricky. Stewart was taking different lines than everyone else and he was paying the price in the whoops and on that triple he kept missing.

You're right, they are the fastest times. Not average. My bad.

Thanks all on the red flags question.

    Luck?

Shock collapses at the gate for the heat.

    Hello, LCQ.

Monster pile up for LCQ, he's like 12th coming out of that, just makes the main by riding his ass off.

Keeps it clean, rides his ass off, doesn't make mistakes, wins the main.

Your definition of luck and my definition are definitely different.

I call that win hard earned.

RD lives in Belle Plaine?? That's just south of me around 20 miles. I ride around there all the time. Never saw a MX track anywhere. I may have to find where he lives!

Ah, heck. He lives in FL now.

    >"Monster pile up for LCQ, he's like 12th coming out of that, just makes the main by riding his ass off."

Well, for him to not win the LCQ... he was basically out there with a bunch of second tier riders. He probably could win coming off the line in last. Should have won easily... and he did.

    >"Keeps it clean, rides his ass off, doesn't make mistakes, wins the main."

He had a lousy start position that turned out to be lucky that night. For an 'ordinary' start he would have been back in the pack... but the inside track piled up and he rode around the outside. IMHO: Luck.

    >"Your definition of luck and my definition are definitely different."

Bad luck would have the shock going flat in the main.

Absolutely agree. We need to stop all this lining up and see who gets the best good luck when the gate drops and determine the winner by having a panel of judges that rode dirt bikes at least 30 years ago score them on a 10 point system.

Then it would be fair and take luck out of the equation. :deal

Forget about who gets there first!
