I sat on row 2 along the 3rd base line last time and the bullpen hit the lady in front of me with a pitch that bounced off the bullpen catcher.

    Her sacrifice saved me. :D

I think they were about $90.00 but great seats.

Back when the Red Sox and the Reds had matching league leading 4-2 records I was convinced we'd be seeing a '75 World Series re-match this year. :rofl Somehow, it's the Red Sox who have continued to win, while the Reds have fallen off the pace. At some point the Sox will come crashing back to earth, but I'm enjoying their first place status while it lasts.

Stanton's 472 foot homer might be the longest of the year. I think Rizzo has the 2nd longest so far.

Actually, it looks like Rizzo's is the longest so far at 475.

And the Cubs won 3 of the last 4.

Watching the Yankees @ Dodgers now on MLB. But its the LA feed ftom KCAL. Well ole Vin Scully starts talking about Jeters parents being of different races, oh shit he just said it again.

I like Scully, but Jeters racial mix has nothing to do with baseball.

What's he gonna say next...start talking about how Latin players are hot blooded & can be emotional? WTF Vin. Tell stories about the players, their ethnicities have nothing to do with their play.

I care. They should ban them for life.

Pete Rose just made a bet.

Point taken, but both bad for baseball.

And don't think that Rose was clean. No roids, I believe the drug of choice back then were "greenies" aka amphetamines. You gotta get game ready after partying all night;)

rose definitely wasn't clean - he admitted to taking greenies (on letterman iirc) - but he did it just for weight loss, and it didn't help his game. riiiggght. ;D

as for "back then," baseball didn't ban greenies until 2006, started testing in 2008, with the first positive resulting in a warning, and the second in a 25 game suspension.
