The Berkshire Trail Riders are pleased to announce that the 2013 Berkshire Big Adventure will be a two day event that is part of the AMA National Adventure Ride Series. The BBA will be held on May 18 and 19 in Tolland, MA. This is our 9th annual May event and our goal is to make this one the best yet.

This ride will continue the tradition of a main route designed for adventure bikes with optional hero sections for dual sport bikes. Please note that this ride is designed for Adventure bikes (i.e. GS 800, KTM 990, etc) and Dual Sport thumpers (i.e. DR 650, DRZ 400, WR250R, etc). This ride is not for 2 stroke enduro bikes.

There will be primitive camping at the start area. No charge for camping. Come Friday afternoon and camp the weekend.

Breakfast food will be available for purchase at the event site both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Egg sandwiches, cold cereal, bananas, juice, coffee and tea.

Saturday evening all you can eat dinner will be served at the Tolland Fire House. The Tolland FD base is about 3 miles from event site and is located directly on the Saturday main route as well. Dinner will include spaghetti, tomato sauce (no meat), meat balls, sausage, salad, vegetable (probably green beans), bread, water, ice tea, lemonade, coffee, tea and ice cream for desert. No alcohol is allowed at dinner.

For those that get to Clark’s field on either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, when you register to get your route sheet, shirt, welcome package, etc …… you will also get a ticket for Saturday dinner included for free. Additional dinner tickets are also available for purchase at $10 each.

This is your goto thread for the BBA.

Online registration is now available ... click the picture!

Does this new two day format follow similar rules as the past single day events? AMA card not required, registration fee the morning of (at the latest), route sheets only etc...

I missed the Fall ride in 2012 (maybe there wasn't one), but I've been to the past three and plan coming to this one as well.:clap

I'd love to but cant manage both right now. "Me" time was at an all time low last year, the job was really busy. I'm still gonna hang in the thread, I'm interested in seeing what I'll be missing.

New to this so apologies if I am asking the obvious, however for this ride will a stock scrambler be sufficient? Not sure what terrain to expect

Yes, but tires may be the difference, especially if it has been wet leading up to the event.

here's a link to last years 1 day event. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=755308&highlight=berkshire

pay no attention to the guys stuck in the mud. They didn't choose the correct line.:D That wet spot was on an optional section and wasn't part of the main route, which could be nicely done on a Scrambler.

The pictures start on page 35.
