Lynn, thanks from me, too.
Does anyone have a list of BMW dealers in Canada?
2015 list is up on bmwmoa

Please post the link here.
I'm no longer a member of BMWMOA, so maybe the POI file exists but is on a member-only page.
All I can find is this web page that lists the dealerships: http://www.bmwmoa.org/general/custom.asp?page=statedata
And a thread by Lynn over here: https://forums.bmwmoa.org/showthread.php?67918-2013-BMW-Dealer-List-POI-US-Garmin/page3
which has the 2015 version
BMW provides an international dealer POI file every year, available as a download from their site. It's kept on the page for the current Navigator version, but works on other models. The .gpi format is compressed and may be proprietary to Garmin(???) But I think there are online converters if it does not load on your GPS.
The current URL is http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/us/en..._2016/navigator_vi/navigator_vi_overview.html, or right-click and save http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/us/en...orrad_Navigator_VI_Haendlerdatenbank_2017.zip. Instructions are in the zip file. There are usually a few discrepancies, as dealers come and go. I expect a new version to be out in April or May.
Unless BMW has changed their model, that GPI file will only open on a BMW branded device.
If that's true ... what a load of crap....................................
Works on my zumo 590 as-is, adding the dealer list to the "Where To" screen with the BMW logo.
Using https://garmin.gps-data-team.com/poi_manager.php for the file conversion, it also works for CoPilot Android (.OV2) and Locus (.GPX) formats.
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com and GPSBabel both choked on the conversion, with GPSBabel saying the file was encrypted.
Both links are dead. Or at least they're 404ing today...
This thread is another great example of how proprietary file formats are stupid.
If it were a gpx you could easily share it with a friend that needed a tow to get a flat tire/final drive patched, or a cup of coffee while his oil were to be changed. But noooooo, gotta use their own dumb format. Secrets and all. Lol
Does anyone know if this is the USA version of the database or worldwide?
Maybe I should have said global, or worldwide.
Can't say universal, as it's limited to dealers on the planet known locally as "Earth".
sorry ... the heat was getting to me .............
Thanks for checking it out. I'm on the road without my devices to check. BMW originally locked that GPI file to BMW branded devices - glad to see they saw the error of their ways.
