Rotating the bars did wonders on my FZ6, and I was already
    looking at replacing them.

Numb hands in 10 minutes before!

Thanks for the link. I adjusted both the bars and controls and it feels much better now.

    Hi ,
I am about 6 foot 3 and last Mon I got issued with a F 800 gt .. At first it felt a little racer compared to my own F 800gs but I am warming to it and so far I have no aches or pains.. I would be on the bike about 6 hours each day but do most of my work in the City in a 50 K ZONE.. The engine is nice and tractable for the low speed stuff and the belt drive which is a first for me impresses . I am a little disappointed with the steering lock for u turns in city streets etc .. Other than that I am happy to ride this bike.. BTW this bike has the coolest tyre valves I have ever seen !

W/o the few complaints on this bike, mainly vibes and suspension quality (And some complaints of soft torque off-idle?!), it'd have to be my first Beemer. On paper, it's just about perfect balance.

It's actually white - it was dusk and the pic didn't look right with the flash so it's probably underexposed a bit.

No problems on mine with vibes. Front suspension could be a little better damped but I'm no racer so I get by just fine. In practice, I think that it is a perfectly balanced do it all road bike. You do need to give a little throttle when starting off or it will stall but it's a touch thing - in a thousand miles you'll feel right at home.

    Really?

    :lol3

    Yeah, I was messing around.

It was whitebalance, not exposure! :deal

OK I'll check that. I usually keep the WB on Cloudy but I was messing with the flash so maybe I changed it. That camera is generally smarter about that stuff than I am I should probably leave it in Auto-Easy mode instead of P. Thanks.

Yeah, most new cameras are rather good with Auto Whitebalance, about
as much as most suck when it comes to integrated flash, so I wouldn't
bother even learning to use it.

If you shoot RAW white balance is irrelevant since you can set it in post
processing without any loss of quality.

There is probably a custom setting that asks you whether you want to override to Flash WB when the flash is fired - that would explain the cool tones even though WB was set to cloudy. :thumb

Yeh, I've been following and I'm clear you're very happy w/yours. Excellent. I'm pretty picky, though. I've had a lot of bikes, and high-end ones, and the little stuff drives me crazy. If I'm going to spend on a Beemer, it's going to have to be very close to perfect on paper and reports. Just me. Glad you're enjoying it. I'm keeping an eye out.

I figured he didn't like the image with the flash, so he took another
without it (from what he wrote).

That's exactly right Cortez. I took several shots I'll look at them and at my camera too when I get home. I don't take enough time sometimes to qc my shots or check my camera settings when I pull over for a quick snapshot. I need to develop a habit to always set it back to some neutral state before I put it away. I also have too many different cameras - should probably just stick to (this) one.

Yeah, some (most?) have the option to reset to a certain state when you
turn them off. I just have one (dSLR) and I usually use Aperture priority or
full manual and adjust everything every time, takes just seconds when you
learn to know the ballpark for everything, i.e. measure the light with the eye.

Ok, I'm done with offtopic, we need more 800GT content, pics included!
