    Vic High Country
    20-25th October
    Bookings open 15th May

Interesting... Vic High Country ride, but with seasonal track closures until the 1st Nov:huh, so I wonder where this one will be going!
Guessing it's been timed to coincide with the Motogp at Phillip Island (20th Oct).

Bugger, only a few weeks before the 1st Ashes test in Brisbane. I would never have enough brownie points with she who must be obeyed to get a couple of weeks off for a bike ride and just get home in time to piss off for a weeks cricket.

Not sure my liver or kidneys would be too pleased either.....:freaky:freaky:freaky:freaky:freaky:freaky

So who's up for the safari this year?
I think I will be registering for it for the first time this year.
And it's in the Vic highcountry, what more could you want?
    Looking forward to this one.

I'm keen for this one. will be my first time. Trying to convince the wife she should be going on her GS too. Anyone got a copy of the DVD from past years they could share with us? I could post back to you too when we watched. Would love to see what's been, and what to expect this year.

    Thanks,

Hmmmmm! not sure about it yet.
Transmission is screwed at the moment (12months old tomorrow), it left me waiting at Mungerannie Hotel in SA for 2 days waiting for the tow truck just last week.
3 mechanical failures in 3 years on 2 BMW bikes. Even got me starting to think "TRIUMPH".
Would be good to catch up Geoff, and hope the GSA is going well.

Ha I can lend you an 1150... it's still in my garage. Not a good track record for you and the 1200's.
The gsa is going real well, just had the 10k service last week and now just shy of 12 now.
Just did a bit of the high country last weekend, some dirt, some seal, all good. Need to get up the more before the road closures, maybe get a group of gs riders to tackle some easy stuff.

It'd be good to catch up though. Trying to convince my missus in coming along, though she won't be riding, maybe act as personal luggage carrier. Now the question will I camp or hotel it this year?

Hi Bryan, i've been on the last 2. Can lend you a copy of the DVD's.
Basically, 2012 was a bit of a dirt road tour still good fun. There was a section that was deemed invite only which was harder, aimed at the more advanced rider, as opposed to the rest of us :hide

Ride would most likely be excellent. The tracks open start of October! Probably can't afford the "manadatory organised" accommodation tho - would like to but won't go due to the accommodation rules.

Mate and I are heading down from Pottsville, Northern Rivers NSW (and back). Anyone heading from Gold Coast Or Brisbane interested in hooking up we would be amenable.

This will be my third, definitely hanging out for it. I reckon excellent value for money and enjoy meeting up with the familiar faces and the new folk too.

Organisers have got it running like a slick mashine these days in my view.:freaky

in 2011 there was just over 200. 2012 it seems like they aim for a lower number, not sure why I'm thinking 170.
But it looks like this this year they might get the number real quick, if your mate got 120, and I got in the 130's at 6:30...
